This is a computer painting I created for Easter 2007. I made this emotional painting because I dislike how Easter was changed from a holiday celebrating Jesus' compassion to a holiday where we search for eggs.Medium:
I used 3 source images to put this together. I used a picture of a volcano, a picture of a hillside cross (which I changed in order to make it's aspect fit the image), and a sunset. I had to repaint the smoke because it was originally flowing to the right. I had to repaint it going left and blend it with the sunset images in the background.
The painting represents how the sins of the earth were burnt from Jesus' sacrifice. The lava at the bottom of the cross symbolizes Jesus' blood. The glowing cross represents the pain He endured. The smoke is from the burning of the sins, and the sun in the background is Hope.
I am not a religious person, but a believer in Jesus Christ. I have faith, not religion. This is my expression of love for Jesus and the Passion, and it is the first of a string of spiritual/emotional pieces I am submitting.

I really love this piece, I love how you portayed the burning of sin and hope as the sun. Dear artist,
I would just like to take some time to say that this piece is great and how great it is to see God using other artists for his purpose. I had something happen to me where I created something from a vision and images God has given me to create for his glory. I am so glad the gift that he gave me to create. God has changed me so much in the past 4 months and one of my visions came true one that I have drawn. I will be posting some of my new artwork on here soon. I just wish there were more artists out there for Christ but we can change that with our talent and God's help.

P.S. I would also like to say I love how you say that your not religious but a believer in Christ and faith not of religion. I just realized this recently, when a part of a religion you are blind to the truth of the way of life through Christ and you put a wall up when you have a religion. I now know that religion is not it and that now I don't like being called a christian cause it's just like a label. I have a huge passion for God and my ART!!!!
