"Bonnie!?"
I'd almost spilled my coffee.
If there was one person, I wouldn't have expected to meet again, it was her. Not here, in this mall, not now.
Although, for the last eight or so weeks, I'd racked my brain what to say, if I'd ever be given the opportunity.
And now? ....Now I was caught off-guard. Again!
She looked at me, in silence, scrutinizing, while I was groping for words.
"I..I just ....want to say....errmm...that.."
"It's nice to see you too, Coop."
"Uhh...yes...I..I'm glad to see you....honestly.....bu..."
"That look on your face.....is that remorse?"
"Pfuh...no", I slowly regained composure, "yeah...I think it is, yes!..Would you....sit with me? Maybe we can....talk?"

Fantastic season Two is starting!
This is a great great page Alex, and a brillant way to a followup: The two protagonists in their "civilian" time, with Bonni's face not covered up with makeup, thus looking more like a regular chick and Coop suddenly looking more like a student than a cop.
One thing hasn't changed though: She's still taking the initiative.
I wonder - I suppose you gave it some thoughts too- if comics bubbles would not fit better (spoiler: I'm a fan of comics) in the context of pages with multiple images? Some, like the unrivalled make it blend in very dynamic and fluent fashion.
whatever Alex, this is very promising. Will I end up reconsider my opinion on Coop?

She’s having the initiative, because he’s caught on the wrong foot again. The poor guy apparently is always one step behind. Let’s see, if he can catch up sooner or later.
And yes, I think you need to reconsider.
Speech bubbles are in fact not an option for my way of telling. Chemicq is producing a tremendous amount of single panels, something I neither intend nor have the time to do. This graphical plus allows him to reduce the text necessary to convey the contents.

I was obviously not comparing you with Chemicq, only give an example (I know, it's quite an example!)
I liked a lot the effect of the light, very much like in a big mall.

But that’s good, actually, because it will be a detail in the narrative to show her versatility and how she changes based on her appearance.
