Wow this is incredible!
It made me think of War of The Worlds at first...
All the sound effects go perfect.
You really deserve a Daily Deviation for this.
Great job!!

Very nice.
It might be cool if the mouth rotated in the zoomed out view also (but slower so as to not draw attention away from the rest of the piece?).
Integrating an option to turn off the audio would be welcome since the looped audio can get old after a while.
I like the drifting dust and the subtle fluctuations of the person's light.
The loading phrase 'Almost there' should probably vary according to the progress bar (having it say 'Almost there' at 31% is humorous at best)
When the animation starts, the slow expansion of light was a nice effect; however, it was still obviously oval. Maybe the oval could be feathered a bit more to hide the shape, or maybe change the shape while it enlarges to better emulate a gradual brightening of the scene.
Well done. I curious how the menu interface will be incorporated without intruding on the art of the painting too much.

what a novel idea! i remember my drawing teacher talking about line weight and directional shading and stuff to lead the viewers eye around the drawing to different points of interest, perhaps in some sort of order, but most people dont look that closely and I was always frustrated that I didnt have any way to make sure people saw specific things without making them really obvious. Or having a storyline in a single frame, but without making the person stop and look at each peice and think about it, its lost on some. Anyway, very cool how you can make such an atmospheric feeling. Of course the sound and fog/dust helps too. Im wondering if it would be too cheesy to have the spiders pincers flex/twitch or the outer teeth shudder/twist in anticipation.

Wow, that is so F** creepy! The animation and sound really gave life to it even if it doesn't move much. I'm afraid to look at the thing at night.

to be honest, its a bit simplistic. its kinda just like you're recycling an old picture by throwing some music, fog effects, and a zoom button on it.

wow, i'm sure i had a nightmare like this once, they say the best artists can evoke emotions with their work instantly, sex, humour, are easy to acheive, getting a fully grown twenty six year old man to break out in a cold sweat is... beyond impressive im putting you on my deviant watch list right this instant!

The sound is really loud, you might want to edit that alittle.
The whole time I seriously thought the robot spider would suddenly move and eat the guy LOL

This is so awesome. I can't wait for everything to be completely finished!
Critique time:
I love the music but one of the sound effects just doesn't match with the others. It's a stomping sound and it sounds dead.
I'm not good at explaining it. ; It's sort of muffled sounding and, according to the picture, if there was something stomping, there would be a bit more noise considering it's a lot of metal. It would help if maybe it had a bit more of an echo since the picture is in a desolate place. It would also give the feeling of "is this the only one, or are there more in the distance?" for the guy holding the light.

This has to be one of you r best works because of this flash. Music and a lil bit of movements really add time and life to it. Its surely not static!!
Maybe you could convert some of you older stuff into this!
btw.. MUSIC ROX!
