Description WANT MORE DELICIOUS ARTS? READ ROMANTICALLY APOCALYPTIC [link]

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I bowed to the horned god, asking it for passage,
For in this city of the ancients, where time stood still,
any travelers that steered from the path, were known to have been consumed by the invisible demons... their hair falling out, possibly from the horror of what they've seen.
Here, even in spring, autumn and winter persisted- some trees leaf-less and some eternally orange in their colors, a strange and wondrous sight.
oh god you did it again alexiuss!! the details and colors are everywhere! however i have to ask, was the man bowing to the bull statue meant to be focused on? if so you should probably made him a bit clearer because he was about the last thing i noticed
This is an interesting collage of different pictures. Yet it is also very strange...there are so many differences in perspective, lighting, color balance and edge hardness/ clarity.
If you were going for an interesting photoshop comp, you certainly hit it, but if you were going for a convincing scene, the aforementioned issues stand out too much.
Flipping the building on the right side would fix a lighting problem, but the perspective problem of the building compared with the other buildings in this scene still stands.
Personally, I think the fix for 90% of the issues in this collage would be to crop the image near the top of the airplane fin to get a widescreen composition. If that was done, the man in the red would be set on the right third of the composition and the diagonal line of the airplane wings and fins would lead our eyes to the bull statue's head and the man in red. Aside from a pleasing image, an interesting effect of this fix would be the contrast of destruction and emerging life on each half of the frame.
Regards,
- MH
fix what lighting problem? all buildings are lit from the right.
I'll be posting a crop of the bottom part eventually, as a downloadable desktop.
ospreyCG In reply to alexiuss [2008-01-06 16:29:31 +0000 UTC]
The lighting issue I was referring to was the building on the far right. As you can see, it is receiving light from both the left and right sides, but the other buildings in your comp are not receiving light from their left sides - their left sides are darker.
Good choice on doing a crop. If you go into photoshop and draw in lines dividing the frame into thirds horizontally and vertically after cropping from the tail fin, you'll notice that the airplane wing points to the man in red, who's head sits on the intersection of the rightmost line and the bottommost line. It's a great place to put the focal point. The rule of thirds is very interesting.
