Description
Being a big fan of cartography I wanted to make "universe map" for my Senya map project. This ended up taking a lot longer to make but it was a lot of fun. I added a brief write up of each faction and Royal house to explain a bit about their status and back story. At some point I would like to deign a few characters from the various areas to show their dress and appearance, but for now this might be interesting to Senya fans who want some more information. Side note, some of the names could change if I discover they are already used in some other sci-fi.Another note: now updated to include Emma's home world of Hanarra.

Yes indeed, it is an empty and mostly unexplored region of space.

Aloria Prime would be the main capital, with all the royal palaces and government centers.

Now I have a basic understanding of Senya's universe. This will lead to my formulating a possible story line. Thanks!

May I ask the Gender ratio of the human race's changed ? Like females are more common than males ?

Indeed, male are down to just twenty percent of the population or less!
The origins of this have not yet been revealed!

Sol is in Aloria territory and yet Home World seems to be in the territory of The Order.
Either the Sol system is not humanity's birthplace (or that Sol is not the original Sol), or the Order is hiding something.

Thanks! I find it helpful for making up a backstory. Somehow seeing something visual is so much better then just making lots and lots of text.
The naming part is funny to.. just making up random words and sounds!! Hopefully they are not from other sic-fi universes.

The burning question to me is whats lurking out there in Black Space? Because that doesn't sound like a terribly nice place

Now there is more to the Senya universe the shiny suits and butt smacks!
Black space is a strange and dangerous place with gravitational distortions and anomalies.
There are few stars and no inhabitable planets, mostly the fleet uses it to test secret weapons (and there is an ultra max prison called the Spire)

If Senya is not careful she is going to find herself in the Spire, in a cell with the galaxy's worst criminals.
Even she would have a tough time escaping that situation.

That sounds awfully much like a hint for future story direction...it would certainly be interesting to see Senya come up an enemy or two in her own class as opposed to those poor Imperial troopers with sore bottoms

I finally got the time to sit down and read this whole thing... and the only question thats ringing in my mind is...
"What else is out there?!"
This map is huge and detailed (awesome work by the way!), but is only a fraction of a fraction of the Milky Way galaxy... Are there any efforts by the Imperials or other factions to expand into other stars? Or are they content with how things are at the moment?
On another note, SO MANAH FACTIONS. The houses are all loyal to the empire but they're not loyal because they hate each other but they tolerate it because reasons and there are criminals but dystopian powerhouses and GAWDS IT MAKES MY HEAD SPIN AND I WRITE CYBERPUNK

Alexx-C In reply to Spirit-of-Vice [2016-07-11 15:49:38 +0000 UTC]
Ha! Complicated indeed! I suppose this empire is like many in the ancient world. Like the Romans the Alorians took over the other regions of space over the centuries. They subjected people receive advanced technologies and peace and protection, and in return they must pay tribute to the empire in the form of conscripted troops, products and resources. Everyone wins, sort of.
In terms of scale I wanted to suggest that each circle is a solar system, the map is not to scale because the distances between the systems is so vast. There may be more out there... perhaps alien even species, but so far those regions of space remain undiscovered.

That 'sort of' at the end reveals everything, doesn't it? After all, 'subjugation' is never a pleasant experience. VIVA LA REVOLUTION!
... I'm a horrible person.
Nonetheless, give yourself a pat on the back for this one. There's gold in this here map, tons upon tons of things potential adventures and stories to tell. Class rivalry, house rivalry, criminal-authority rivalry, and at least several dozen habitable systems to explore the strife on. I love all the little economic details (I'm a nerd), focusing on how each house gains its wealth and what they're in charge of, not to mention their allies, rivals, various degrees of loyalty to the Queen's "thrown" (it's a typo but I love it) and those who they hold in contempt but tolerate. I can't wait to see what you do with it!
But they are looking, right? I mean, what is life without a little bit of hubris?

Thanks a lot! I am a fan of maps and world development (starting with the Lord of the Rings books and continuing with games like Oblivion and Mass effect). When I designed this map I was mostly just thinking of cool or interesting places the main characters could visit. I wish I had more time to develop the costumes and space craft of the various factions in greater detail!
I did add one point of the map (in the Traid section) showing mysterious deep space jump sites. It looks like some one is seeing what is out there!

Oh, also, with the Imperial Army; it's not a life-conscription, right? After noticing that detail and reviewing the uniforms, there seems to be a degree of similarity between the Army's and the Triad's female fighters... are these Imperial veterans who are choosing to serve the Triads, or was this just a coincidence?

Imperial service would only last about five years. If the person does not make it to the end a family member must finish the tour!
Maybe people stay in the service after this point because they can become professional soldiers. Most high ranking officers are from the core systems though, and were born from noble or wealthy families.

Spirit-of-Vice In reply to Alexx-C [2016-07-11 17:41:34 +0000 UTC]
Just five years? How fast are the Warp Gates? Because, considering current spacing technology, that seems like a remarkably short amount of time; just enough to get trained and get wherever you're going, then you turn right back around and go home!
Huh, so the officer class is kind of like the Imperial British style, where those with wealth can purchase Military Commissions that give them status, and therefore accrue more wealth? You've really thrown together all the things we can consider 'morally incorrect' from a democratic standpoint and thrown them into the Empire... You've created a SUPER ANTAGONIST
And that 'family member must take up the slack' clause is straight Machiavellian!

Alexx-C In reply to Spirit-of-Vice [2016-07-11 17:59:00 +0000 UTC]
I think they could zip across the empire in about three months, via the various warp gates.
So it would be a lot like the British Empire, where they could go to India or Canada, but it would be quite the voyage.
I should include some time estimates on the map though!
And yes, the Empire sure is good at keeping their conquered peoples! They also make troopers from one system police other systems to keep tensions and animosity high between them!
