Aaah oh gosh but on a serious note, these recent pages are so nice. I've yet to get around to reviewing The Selection-- I'm waiting until you redo the prologue and get further into chapter 2--, but I'm really digging the calmer narrative direction. The beginning may have been dramatic and ambitious, but I feel these characters are at their best in a slice of life setting. It's great stuff, so keep it up!

But ahhh thank you! ;n; I definitely feel a huge tonal shift in the comic from beginning to end. The randomness has faded and the humor has softened. I think that came about due to leaving the IZ fandom! But I'm happy with where it's going and, thus far, happy with my pace of updates! I hope I can keep it up, and possibly speed up in the future!

Haha, that "Oh!" moment when if finally clicks. That's really cool that they have sexual orintations, too. I sure hope it's not a cultural taboo in their universe. :C
Also, so only royals and lords pick their mates when they are young? How does that work? And to build on that, anyone who isn't a noble is free to choose whomever they want to be with? Sort of like arranged marriages vs commoners? In human culture (some human cultures anyway) the two who are arranged to be married are often paired or decided to be married at a really young age by the parents. It seems in their society the adult nobles choose a youngster that will grow up to be their mate. How is that decided? Any noble child, that wasn't choosen when they were young, once they grow to be an adult are leigable to choose from the other noble youngsters at the time?

It's actually accepted, give or take, in Ambivian culture! At least with homosexuality. Some other orientations not so much, but it's not uncommon for people to be gay and it's not really questioned much at all.
Ahhh well, the big issue here is that The Selection event happened only once. So the method of mates being paired through arranged marriages is not common. This was a sort of act of desperation. A lot of people get confused on this, which is a primary reason I'm rebooting the prologue so it's much more clear!
That's not to say arranged marriages don't happen. Amongst Royals they certainly happen, though it's more an act of persuasion than forced. Like the option to pick who you want is open but "if you don't marry x we are taking away your money" kinda thing. Or something around that. But typically it's just accepted that you should marry someone within a Royal lineage, preferably someone your level or higher, and it just happens.
