- While trying to adapt to her new life, Kailani is unsettled at the unfamiliar people and things around her. Feeling like a stranger in a new world, she begins to seek out the answers to the long list of questions she has harbored for the past 15 years. However, answers come slowly as her new mate appears to avoid them in the most convenient of times.
- If she can't find the answers herself, she'll have to resort to pulling heads together to figure them out, and perhaps attempt to ease her growing fears as well.

*AlfaShampoo-Artemis told me I should wait awhile before starting Chapter 2 and I was inclined to do so but then I decided NOPE.
Chapter 2 has arrived! Somewhat! Well the cover anyway! This counts as this weeks update just so you know.
This is the official start to the new art technique I'm going to go for this chapter. That being, of course, traditional pen linework and cellshading (continued). I still gotta work on the pen inking a bit cause I'm so used to just being able to sloppily throw things on the page and move them in photoshop. If you want an idea what the pages will look like, why don't you just... check out page 63 . Cause, yeah. That was pen inked the whole time. I fooled you all c:
I also redid the TS title logo after a million years! It's not the official one as I still need to full figure that out but let's call this a solid temporary replacement until then. Thanks to ~NuclearLoop and ~Ayemae for giving second opinions!
But as for the cover itself, oh my, what is going on here? Who are all these characters? Why, it's the gang from way-back-when! Cookies for people who can remember their names without looking back. Their designs have been tweaked juuuuuust slightly, if it's noticeable. Some more than others.
ALSO I'M IN LOVE WITH FEDDY'S FACE RIGHT NOW IT BRINGS ME IMMENSE JOY AND GIGGLES.

Cover arts negative: The guys kinda look annoying to me at the moment, the background a bit too dark or too much dark blue.
Cover arts positive: Characters well placed, still recognizable, expressions are good, and the tittle looks ok aswell.
It's a really well done cover, I can still remember those characters by face but not by name. The expression I can understand since Federico is known to be a really scary guy and all.
So is the next chapter worth reading? From just the cover I would say, YES X3 And cool to know that you're using traditional art style on this aswell, this just means that you're an artist of many talents. But I will say that I agree with sring-griffin on the logo. The N could use something. Hmmm... Maybe you should make it swirl a bit? And the background on my oppinion is a bit too dark, but oh well. Your comic, your rules. I'm already suffocating for the next page!!! XD

I purposefully made the background dark, though, just cause any other color would ruin the mood the cover is trying to convey (I messed with it while editing and just making the blue a little brighter looked really silly).
Yes, indeed, I shall tinker I bit more on that title logo and see what I can figure out~ I'm wondering if just making the N large would do something. Or even adding a swirl coming off of it as you said perhaps!

I think in the first chapter the guys had shorter mouths while the girls had that long. Maybe that's what's bothering me XD
Maybe the background could've been black and white? XD

I love the composition you did here, and the cell shading looks great, the mix between the two looks beautiful!
I'm amazed at how well the inking looks, there's definitely something "different" about them, but it's so visually appealing! Mine always have ink blobs in the middle of them -are you using a certain type of pen? o:Β
I have to ask though, is it hard to color in PS using traditional lineart? I tried it one time when I first got my tablet (and it may have been due to inexperience) but it was hard as all get-out! I'd be under the assumption that you have to color over it, right?

It's rather strange just how different it can look. Both can look equally as clean at the right distance (zooming in is another storyΒ >.> ) but while ink tends to look a bit rougher and thicker, digital is a lot smoother and thinner. I kinda favor how varied the lines can be with pen just as far as visual details go, even if it's not quite as easy to manipulate in post editing xD
As for pens, I use a 6-pack of fine-line Pigma Microns. They range between 005/.20mm (really tiny tip for details) to 08/.50mm in size (decently large tip). I've used them on and off for a few years and they work great.
When it comes to coloring them, it's actually not hard at all! You simply have to set the scanned lineart to "Multiply" and it basically makes all the white transparent so you can color right under it but not disturb the lines at all.

Oooh yeah, that's true! I'm really amazed at how different digital/traditional lines can make the whole image look!Β
Oh, microns! My friend was just telling me about those! Apparently they're 2-3 dollars a piece, but really good? I'd consider getting a couple but I'd be afraid I'd waste them. I do like the results though; most digital lines end up being the same weight, so I guess that's something that's visually appealing about all the different sizes of the traditional inking~
Wow, really! That sounds a lot easier than I was imagining. O_O So you just have to make all the smudges and weird things the scanner picks up white first! Assuming I'm following correctly. Thanks for telling me! 8D

Yeah they are a bit pricey but well worth it. I can't remember for sure but I think my 6-pack was... $12? I can't quite recall. Between $12-$16.
Haha yup! Unless your scan is crappy it should automatically be the perfect white so it transfers over in a snap. (I like to use the dodge tool if I wanna make things whiter lol)
