Prologue: The Selection - Prologue page 1
- Kailani is just one of many young royals placed into an event known infamously as 'The Selection': an unorthodox program organized by the Great Elders in which young royal children were selected to partake in a nation-wide arranged marriage event in order to protect and improve the Royal bloodline. While accepting her fate, the young woman, and her adopted siblings, are in the dark to the details of their future partners.
The mystery is only heightened when rumors tell Kailani's mate is nothing short of a monster.
Finally. Been thinking up a decent design for this cover for ages now and only now came up with one. Which... is why this is late. The other covers will come out before I start the chapters. Heh.
I'm rather proud of how this came out, though I'll definitely go back and tidy up some bits whenever I find them.

I'm still unsure whether or not I like the placement of the titles and such. I personally think they're fine, but I'm just not certain. What do you guys think?

Yup! I tried out a bit of gradient shading on it. Normally I don't like gradient shading but it turned out rather well this go around.

mmm I have a good idea for the title.
"The Selection"- where it is placed is pretty good but the symbol makes the cover look almost uneven. Try lowering the opacity on the symbol and putting it behind the main title. I've seen that done on alot of album covers. I was think of Three Days Grace's logo. Moving the symbol will then give you an opprotunity to move the "Chapter 1" to the middle of the bottom of the cover. That will then even out everything.
How come Lord F.'s silhouett has no antlers...? I'm confused XD But as for the design of the cover, I just have one question to ask. What are you aiming for the read to feel and think be looking at the front cover of this graphic novel? What is the mood you want to set in them? What do you want the first impression to be like for the potential reader? (I am asking this so I can know how to critique.)

Ya know, that'd be a really good idea!
Well, I'm thinking of completely erasing his shoulder spikes because the shadow is supposed to represent what Kailani is fearing her husband will look like (being a monster) but I'm not sure how else to elaborate his "scariness" since... well... there isn't much of a physical difference I can show with just the shadow without completely changing the pose. I'm thinking of making the tails of his shirt look like spikes or tentacles or something in the shadow and maybe giving it some eyes. But the antlers thing is reference to page 16

it doesn't look like a dress to me, maybe a robe or a cape, but I can imagine shirt tails. It makes him look debonair.
