Description
Rhinor, this was only my second sculpt but I do mark it as the moment I fell in love with sculpting, Super Sculpey was a revelation to me at the time, I see some of it's shortcomings now (prone to cracking, being somewhat brittle etc).Materials: Brass and copper armature, Super Sculpey

Thank you, I truly appreciate that. Unfortunately my schedule is a bit busy so I'm not currently taking on new commissions, if that changes I'll announce it in my journal.

Well maybe I'm biased but I think sculpting has pretty much the hardest learning curve, so hey if you have questions let me know.

Thanks, this was actually the first sculpt I did that looked like I wanted, and then I ruined it with a bad paint up. But we live and learn.

Dude, that is soooo kickass! I wish I was that good. Hey, I got a question for ya about armatures, first how did you get it into the stand, and where did u get one of those stands anyway??

AliasGhost In reply to Whitey594 [2007-01-13 16:10:11 +0000 UTC]
Thanks, I build the armatures out of aluminum armature wire from the Arron Brothers, I believe most art stores carry it, if you can't find it you can use any heavy gauge wire from a home improvement store. The stand/base is a wood plaque from Michaels and they run like 1.50 a piece. Hope that helps.

Thanks, um my only other question is well...the base is wood..so...how would you bake the sculpture if the base is wood, wouldn't it smoke or sumthin?

Nope, not at 275, it's too low a temp for the wood to catch fire.. Plus it smells GREAT!!!
