Description It’s been a while since I made anything related to astrobiology/speculative biology so I’m very happy to have completed this.  This is the second part of my Centauri project that explores life in the canopies of the hypothetical planet Alpha Centauri AB.  Here's a brief summary of the organisms showcased here.

Broad winged griffin bird: raven-sized opertinists that soar vast distances over the canopy searching for food, primarily quadralocuses which they use their interior teeth to pull into their mouths once snatched in their beaks.

Chisel-jaw glider: small omnivores that glide from tree to tree using their strong jaws to crack hard nuts and fruits as well as gnaw into tree bark to reach wood boring arthropods.

Tree cucumber:  arthropods that resemble their oceanic namesakes and bore into the trunks of Frame trees to feed on their sap, only leaving mate or escape danger.

These are terrifying, but also very cool

I like how the broad winged griffin birds are something that one could mistake for a bird if one just saw them from a distance but would be quite obviously not birds if one saw them closer up. Incidentally, are their "feathers" at all like bird feathers or are there some major structural differences from feathers that would be noticed upon closer inspection?

They're pretty similar to the feathers of birds on Earth.  I'm not sure how many ways you can structure functioning feathers.
