Description I had a sudden urge to draw some sketches of what the Woodlanders might be like if they ever went to war.

I had a storyline worked out but that might never be written, just inspire some drawings like this one, quite possibly of an entire woodlander army marching over a hill towards a large weasel-warlord's fortress.

I know that the woodlanders are not a warlike race of beasts, but i had the idea that a former soldier-slave of the weasel warlord had actually given up his vermin tendencies and began preaching against his former master in an attempt to rouse them to end the raiding and kidnapping that his sizable forces forced upon the peaceful creatures.

the story was going to follow the idea that this rat, Ashtooth and his small band of pirates had broken away and began surprising the local populace with heroic deeds against the Warlord's forces.

anyway im still not sure if this would become a proper story, I've still yet to finish the Siege of Eveshire and post it...

CRazy about anything redwall.

The otter looks pissed. I notice that your scouting party has no squirrels... NO SQUIRRELS!? You can't have a scout party with spear and axe wealding badgers and otters. They are too large to sneak around and gather information.

well did you notice that they're standing on a hill, i was gonna include squirrels but I ran out of room so I say that there are squirrels just behind or infront of them...

They are on a hill... in front of the main army? I'm just saying if you had a tracking and scouting party then it should consist of the creatures that are fleatest of foot and can make easy get-aways.

I mean, they are more of a Forward Party than a Scouting Party.

well that's true, their not trackers but as scouts they are meant to warn the army of enemies but are able to well defend themselves.

So you're right, they're not the conventional scouts as such but frontline soldiers

Yeah, so i guess the Forward Scouting Party would be correct, so you could call them scouts. Thus my argument, though somewhat relevant, is torn.
