In the top window, at the real attraction, you can see a ghost go by from time to time, holding a candle
I didn't feel like actually drawing a ghost ...would get "too obvious" ... I was already wondering If I should ad the bats or not, but I think they look fine now

This reminds me very much of Luigi's Mansion... The two mansions look so much the same! Or at least once you complete the game they do.

in spite of being a spooky house, the execution is very clean.
i like that it's neat but i'm not sure how it makes the whole picture work.

thank you ! I think the "clean" look comes mostly from it being a Vectorial piece. You gotta try real hard to make something look messy using that technique...
Take the fog for example, It is built up from 100 diffrent layers (I drew 25, copied them 4 times and resized them in height to save myself some work) and each cast shadow , or light you see, has at least 10 layers to it!
Getting a messy effect would have made this already impossible task, much too overwhelming.
(altough I think I messed up the roof windows up a bit, they look too messy for me)

it's weird to hear those lines in English... At DLP, they naratted everything in French (except vincent's laugh, luckey)
everything used to be in English, but those #Β§%! Chauvinistic french wanted everything at LEAST in double language. But since it gets really long telling everything in French AND english, they lost the english narration at most attractions

One day I'll get to Eurodisney. I'm just starting in on French (but I know enough to understand that bit! *is proud*).
Considering it IS in France I can see why they'd want it in French, though I'm biased toward the English version. Classic.
Of course, it's not even the normal narration here right now. It's all Nightmare Before Christmas-y. "Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was peaceful...not even a mouse..."
Thus, the line goes from 10 minutes to and hour. Ugh.

Well, I really do'nt understand why everything has to be in french. If the park were in Belgium, no-one would've made any remark like this... But that's because Belgium isn't so self-centered. Most of us speak pretty decent English, younger kids learn it at school, older people pick up a lot of things from the TV (about half our shows are american with subtitles) so I don't think we would mind at all.

Yeah. They change it every year from Halloween to Christmas. There are ups and downs to it. It's fun, but at the same time, it's not the haunted mansion we know and love. Though from what I've heard Phantom Manor is actually rather different than Haunted Mansion at points. For example, while Phantom Manor has a storyline and no narration in the buggies, Haunted Mansion has a running dialogue and yet no real plot. It's just...a haunted house. There's a bride in the attic and a party in the ballroom, but very few people know why.
Actually, I don't think we have the Vincent Price narration here. It's a guy with a much deeper voice, I'm not sure who. But I love Vincent, so I can see how he would be good for that. The laugh especially.

It's also Eurodisney, so it makes sense that it would try and appeal to all of Europe, so I can see it being in English too.

I used to work register at my previous job, and this one time, I had a wallon (southern belgium is called wallonie) I never even realised he was french, untill after the sale he started talking to me, in french
him "why didn't you talk french to me?"
me (in my best french) "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realise"
him "but you learned french in school?"
me "yes I did! didn't they teach you dutch, or did you fail your etiquette class?"
In Flanders, we get a full-option on language courses. From 10y on, we get a french course, from 14 on an english course and after 16 you can take german classes. So basically, everyone who graduates is fluent in at least 3 languages, most of them know 4!

Oh man, what a great history. A buffer zone. Well, the US came about because we were too cheap to pay our taxes to Britain so we decided to send them a nasty letter and get the French to save our butts. Gotta love history.
Yeah...I know that English is pretty widely spoken in Europe, but it just seems polite to me to at least ask. As far as your wallon (which is coolest sounding name ever, by the way...) goes, it's not like you're IN France. That's like someone coming into a store here and asking me why I didn't speak Spanish to them...um...because we're not in Mexico? I'm totally with you on that.
Four languages? Wow. That puts us to shame. I wasn't even offered a language program until 8th grade, so I was like 13. My high school was Spanish or French. They added Italian around my last year for a few students, but it was basically only those two, and people really only took it for two or three years. I wish our education system would get its butt in gear and realize that you need to teach languages earlier than 14.

Of course you do! It has been prooven, that the younger you are, the easier you learn languages. When we are still kids, the language part in our brain is quite big, cause we're still learning new words every day. When we get older, we don't need to learn that many words anymore, so that part of our brain gets a bit lazy.
my fiancee & me, are really thinking about educating our kids in both Dutch (our language) and English.
Studies shown this is really good for the development of your kids' language skills, as long as you are consequent and one parent speaks one language, and don't start to mix it up. At least not untill they are 6 or 7 and can distinguish the 2 languages by themselves.
A couple of months ago, belgium held a study, between belgian highschoolers and american 16-y old highschoolers (I forgot the state, but it was some redneck state, thΓ t I do remember

Haha...no need to tell me Americans are lazy. Don't I know it. I catch myself being a lazy American sometimes. It's one of the things that I really get annoyed about. People would be shocked when I told them that my high school went from 8:30-5:00, and had 2 1/2 hour art classes in the afternoon. People didn't get why we were pushing ourselves, even though it was completely worth it, and no where near the pain people thought it'd be. It prepared me for so much (and put me ahead in some places).
The movies totally exagerate that whole "bad teacher with one good teacher coming in and changing lives" thing, but it's true that there are so many things screwed up with the system. Also, it really does depend on where the study was done. When I was in high school, there were only 1 or 2 people who failed the high school exit exam (which was one of the easiest tests I've even taken, people were getting perfect scores on it). It was the same way with most other schools from my area. I saw a story on the news where there was a school that had like 50% of their students failing. That's hundreds of kids. It's crazy.
But language specifically is something that I think is really important to learn, and I'm sad that I wasn't offered it when I was younger. I'm trying frantically to catch up on it now.

You'll get there don't worry. You have the downside you're english tough. The languages easiest to learn, are supposibly the languages closest to yours. In the case of English, that's German and Dutch. German pissed me off big time (but I love the language - it holds such power) did you know the spelling of a word differs from it's place in the sentance? Like you can't use the same word for "lamp" in "the lamp is broken" or "I'm holding the lamp" because in the first sentance, it's the subject, and in the last one the ... Errr, I forgot the english name for it, but literally stranslated from Dutch it means "suffering object"
As for Dutch, that's actually even harder to learn. Dutch is quite easy to spell (usually you write what you hear) and our regular verbs all follow the same pattern (unlike in most languages) The hardest part is how we build our sentances, our word order. You might have noticed I put words in strange places? That's my Dutch heritage baby 
My American friends keeps laughing at my english accent. He says I sound nothing like the Dutch on TV that try to speak english. And then I have to remind him "I'm belgian, I come from the same country as famke janssens and jean claude Van Damme, they don't have funny accents, do they?" (well, JL does a bit, but he's imitating schwartzie)

Yeah, my dad speaks some German and he always makes fun of me for trying to learn french. He'll say something in German, and I'll start with French just to spite him, and we'll throw in bits of English and it turns into an altogether confusing conversation. Most of the time I'll just spout random phrases in French that they teach you in French 101. To quote Eddie Izzard: "le chat est sur la chaise" and "le singe est sur la branche." And then my dad'll start with random lines from Rammstein songs. Thus you have a typical conversation in my life. Cats on chairs and german industrial metal.
But I know enough Spanish that French isn't too difficult to grasp, it's the pronunciation that trips me up. That 'r' is crazy difficult for us English speakers. Like the word "parle." I sound like I'm spitting up a hairball. Not cultured at all. And the nasal sounds. I know I'm not doing it wrong, but I feel like I'm a stereotypical French cartoon character and any second some French guy is going to come out of nowhere and go "no no...we don't ACTUALLY sound like that. You look like an idiot."

Yes, the french R is hard to pronounce. especially since english has their own special R. Dutch or German doesn't and we pick up the R pretty easily. Can I teach you a few tricks?
pronounce the L
pronounce the L again, but vibrate your tongue (it might take some practice. You'll sound japanese)
now try to keep that same vibration but move it from the beginning of your tongue, to as far back as you can (without chocking) and you should be quite close to the french r (it sounds a bit like a purring cat)
but the real trick? If you're starting to become quite fluid in talking, you don't need to pronounce the R anymore. You can leave it out and the brain of the person listening will put it in.

Yeah...theoretically I get how it works, but it's hit and miss if I can actually do it. And all those spanish rolling r's I'm used to didn't help me much either because those are all on the tip of the tongue. prrrrrrrrrr. My friend makes fun of me because my sexy kitty purr sounds like a pigeon cooing. And everyone knows pigeons are the definition of sexy.
