wow it's beautiful shot! along with the other version of this, it reminds me of singing in the rain for some reason. I guess it's a combination of the overall "classic" feel to this photo, and the umbrella! +fav

Thank you very much for you kind words.
Singin' In the Rain actually caused a lot of the inspiration for this shot. You've got a keen mind.

Oh great composition here. I can't really explain the emotions it brings up, it's probably different for everyone and could even changed depending on the time of day. but right now, it makes me think of moving on, getting prepared.. I like the hesitation in his step. great framing... this scene would feel at home in a movie.

Thank you. The movie feeling was what I was going for with this piece.
You've nailed the concept right on the head. Thanks.

Thanks dear! But far from perfect I am, it took me a while to get this shot the way I wanted.
I rarely ever get an image I am looking for on the first shot.
Thanks for your comment.

this is beautiful.
so melancholic and free somehow...
but the position of the guy has something joyful and making me happy, because its a little bit an emotional contrast.
somehow the joy of loneliness...

Thank you very much for the comment. I never really thought of this in the joyful kind of way, but looking at it like that I suppose it does work.
Thank you for your insight into the shot. I was hoping to get some other perspectives on it.

This one really makes my eyes travel all along the ridge of the path but being drawn back to the shoulders and generally the suit. I like it, especially since having the caption makes the picture more lurring. Neat.

Thank you very much. I tried to make the man the focal point rather than the actual focal point of the path.

"You've Got So Far To Go - Alkaline Trio" All I have to say.
Well that's not 100% true, The pathway leading away form you is perfect for the perspective, is just fades into the distance as you wait, truly amazing. I'm a huge fan of black and white photographs and this is truly awesome. Sir Markus, you have pulled this one off again, with pure genius. Only one negative thing to add, your positioning, it would ahve been better if you were either closer to the lamp post of the center of the walkway. Eitherway, the picture is still awesome,

Thanks hoss. I love the use of Alkaline Trio to the image, haha.
This is probably one of, if not the most favourite of my shots.
I love hearing what people think of it and how it reflects for them.
Thanks again Jamie.

when i look at this i think of the Radiohead song title "Fake Plastic Trees" those trees and their leaves look fake!
i think it's just the white leaves though. great shot
