Description
Among the birds that frequent my yard, there are the few that I get along with famously. One such creature is this magpie, which I call Maggies, Baggs, Baggie, and Cock (short for Cocky). This bird is as bold as a steam-roller, which is why I've come to like him. Rather than flying away as many others do at the sign of an approaching human, it runs behind a potplant or some bush, pokes its head around the side, and glares. In the summer months it also lies on its back and plays with its mate - I've yet to have the camera handy during these events, but I promise these pics for the future.
