Happy Easter! ^^

Concept: MLP
University Project
3dsmax/Photoshop/MentalRay - Modeling/Texturing/Skinning/Rigging/Animation/Shaders/Lighting/Rendering/Post production by me. Say goodbye to your social life for a while.

After 10+ weeks of constantly changing and tweaking this animation I'm finally happy to call it a day. I would just like to thank everyone I poked to get feedback and comments so I can fix it and improve it. I went through 30+ different passes trying to get it right and comfortable, mostly learning the principles of animation, mostly timing. Oh and creepy looking faces. .__.

Total Render time: 260 hours

Inspiration thanks too 2snacks  and the community on the art chat room on Equestria Daily. Also thanks to Shadowheartpony !

Also check out the 3D print!

Swwwweeeeettt! Glad to see more from you, and I like the animation only nit pick would be that her face looks a little static throughout the movements, maybe a little lurch forward before the boost, itd be hard to go from zero to supersonic without some previous movement, other than that looks great, plus you know more about animation then me. Gotta love hair physics

Thanks again! There are a few things that still annoy me, but I had to draw a line under it.. You should have seen it a few months ago... It was creepy. :') I still think it is, kinder. And it started driving me crazy, but it's fine I enjoyed it. Maybe I should have kept it more simple? It's kind of put me off doing the third one I had planned, I guess I'm just drained after putting all my effort into it. I'm kinder at the point where I want to start again from scratch and fix all my mistakes. (The life of an artist, nothing is ever good enough). Then again if I showed my past self I probably wouldn't have expected to reach this far.

I'm sure it was hell making that and I have great respect for you to finish it at all (you can look in my folders and find dozens of unfinished projects) The worst thing an artist can do is never finish, in addition im sure you learned loads about the do's and don'ts of animation, in addition I've never really animated something like that before so I cant say that I could do even something a tenth as good as that, rainbow effect boggles my mind If you feel burnt out, maybe try making some stills or some goofy animation that takes no effort, just to get back in the groove again, I take frequent breaks from anything major, but I always try to return back to it. Congratulations for making it so far, good luck, and as long as you keep going it only can get better from here!

I actually had a good night sleep knowing it was done. :') I do to, so it's quite common for everyone to dabble in different things, well at least I think it is! This might be interesting: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12_basic… I probably missed a few of them, or did bits incorrectly, but it's a good starting point. The rainbow effect was sort off... difficult seeing as the program didn't support it so I had to animate the UV layers to get it to work. D: That sounds like a cool idea if I'm honest, well atm I'm doing my other Uni projects so it'll be a nice break. I should have delayed it a bit more so I could come back to it and corrected it. Thanks you too! ^^

I need to get more rest lately... anyways a source of knowledge that is not only extremely usefull but something that got me interested in animation since I was little is the book The Animators Survival Kit ( www.amazon.com/Animators-Survi… ) I might have already recommended it to you (since I recommend it so often) Animating UV's ouch, I'm not familiar with your software so I'm not sure really what it was like for you, but I can be sure it was a little more than difficult, and Your Welcome, and as always  STAY AWESOME! (I say that a lot but I mean it)

Awesome animation, I love the sonic rainboom effect.

I am currently holding a contest right here, take a look if you wish to volunteer or share it with your friends tender1kenobi.deviantart.com/a…

That's OK, you don't have to take part but if you could share it that would really help.
