Description
Okay, so we've gotten over the next great leap with the film, which means I had Sunday morning off, which means I finally had a chance to touch up the red line before I finally ink it.This is one last freehand pass to get everything as close to correct as I can.
This is why I did the transfer in Scarlet Col Erase. I can touch up and sharpen the lines without any big impact to the clean drawing. I found that there were quite a few little things left to do. I adjusted Girl 1's leg. I worked on Girl 2's head, and I lengthened Girl 3's thigh. I also gave her a little more weight since she has more negative space to fill. Anyway, I'll be inking this one.
Next time you see it it should have a black line. I'll hopefully get a start on it tomorrow morning, since mornings are the best time to ink.

Is this project for something specific or someone specific or is it just something you wanted to do just for the sake of doing it?

Did you ever ink/finish his piece? Thanks for posting this tutorial. Very cool (and refreshing) to see how much work went into this with traditional tools.

It's amazing to see how much effort you're putting into this specific piece, Mr. Sanders. Sometimes, we forget how much fun and work we can have in a piece before sending it to inks or colors. Also, your passionate criteria with correcting details, adding balance, and doing lil tweaks on the piece is REALLY lovable. Shows how can one get to the top in art! Congratulations, I'm crossing fingers for this piece!

Thanks for uploading your process here. I'm pretty stuck in my own, not so imaginative process, so it's eye opening to see how you do things.

Very sexy Halloween piece. I find the steps you took to get to this point very interesting. Though I'd never have the patience you do to do something like this as a free-time/side project. unless it was a commission or something. none the less very cool tutorial. can't wait to see the full ink and maybe some colors by either you or some other DA users.

It reminds me of a pin-up girl situation. It's kinda naughty, in a cute way. The only thing that gets to me is girl 1's back. It doesn't look like it connects from the shoulder area to her torso. Other than that it's pure win.

The only you've done wrong here is not make the dog a Bull Terrier.

Hey, man. I've noticed you use very little hard edges, corners are mostly rounded...
It's really pleasent to the eye.
How'd you come up with that?

the right arm of girl 3 is visually confusing to me, I can't make sense of it except if I keep my eyes moving, if I look right at it, it makes me go "guh?". am I the only one?
haha I lover freaky hair ornament though. I can't wait to see the finished product on this

I see that section to be her forearm, facing the viewer nearly directly head on. Normally you'd see it appear as an ovoid shape , but adding the extra lines to a shape essentially in the B/G may add even more confusion. Maybe Chris will deal with it more when he gets to painting.

Yes. That one just doesn't work. It's too stretched out for the elbow to be where I want it. Its one of those things that I'll either leave where it is, or drop it entirely before I ink. Sometimes those things just don't seem to show up and sometimes they do. I'm teetering on that one. Either way I can keep the hand where it is and just minimize the rest of her arm.

No, this one is unusual in that there are multiple figures. I'm ashamed to say I've never tried a drawing with five figures before, and for that reason each step has been much more drawn-out than usual. However, I do try and take multiple passes at the drawing when time permits.
