Is called color holds and there's a lot ways, but I usually work with two: If the lineart is inked and "bitmaped" (coming from a black and white bitmap image, not a graycale)and very sharp, I just select and fill with color the lines. of course, for that you need to have the lines isolated in a layer and the transparent pixels blocked. The other way is create a layer over the lineart layer, filling parts with the color you want. Then make click between both layers while holding alt, and you'll "mask" the upper layer content with/in the layer below. I usually work this way when I'm colorin' directly over pencil works, no inks. Hope this helps!

What is the difference between anti-alias off and anti-alias on? And the flats colors are painted on one layer or you make differents layers for every color and then merge them?

You will see the difference between anti-alias off and anti-alias on in the selections borders... Anti-alias on looks soft and nice but is less effective to make the selections later. Anti-alias off gives a more "ugly" border, buts work very nice for selections. If the artwork is big enough, that "ugly" borders are not visible. The less layers, the best, IMO. I use one layer for the flats, and more just in the case the artwork include some transparency stuff like glasses, ice, etc. Hope this info help you!

That helped me ALOT! I'm using Photoshop CS3 right now so I think there's no anti-alias option, but I'm going to purchase CS5 and put what I learnt in practice. Thank you.

I don't remember, but it will be close or an option in the lasso tool. I think CS3 have it, for sure.

[link] este trabajo lo dibujo primero, luego de dibujarlo le pase tinta, al tenerlo en photoshop lo redibuje y acomode todas las capas para que quedaran como yo keria q kedaran, luego para el fondo aplike textura y un efecto de FLARE... pero me gustaria aprender tu estilo de pintura digital

Bueno, no entendí la parte de "redibuje y acomode todas las capas para que quedaran como yo keria q kedaran" luego de entintarlo y escanearlo, en cuna capa bajo esa haces los flats o colores planos, y luego añades luces y sombras, y al final efectos como texturas, brillos, etc. Hay muchos tutoriales a lo largo de internet, incluyendo acá en DA. Date una revisada y de seguro encontrarás cosas bien útiles. Y aunque muy trillado, a practicar!

Si entiendo bueno yo e aprendido mucho viendo los trabajos de ROB DUENAS como el tiene una pagina LIVESTREAM la cual sube sus videos de photoshop, aprendi mucho de el, pero nose siento que todavia me faltan por aprender muchas cosas, para poder entonces comenzar con mi proyecto un comics que quiero hacer solo, (ESCRITO, DIBUJADO, ENTINTADO Y DIGITAL) pero quiero aprender mas la aplicacion de texturas, por ejemplo: si quiero pintar una cadena, quiero que la cadena este oxidada, como agregarle el oxido, o si quiero hacer una escena de cielo nocturno o que este lloviendo, tambien pintar hielo y fuego etc...
cosas esenciales como esas, que podrias aconsejarme?

Para aplicar texturas o escenas de cielos, muchas veces se usan fotografías un poco trabajadas y en capas sobre el dibujo, con efectos de capa como overlay o screen... Allí debes experimentar un poco con los resultados y ver cual se adapta mejor a lo que quieres. Para aprender esas cosas lo primero a "afilar" es tu sentido de la observación... Busca referencias, trata de imitarla y crea tus propios métodos... Busca en internet y encontrarás bastante info. Saludos!

Pues, es algo de tu preferencia! Ambos funcionan, pero si deseas colorear algo que está sólo a lápiz, debes definirlo más... Un trazo más limpio y definido, pues.

Muchas gracias! y queria preguntartelo, pero no sabia como escribirlo en ingles :c. Cómo o Donde pudiste aprender a manejar el pintado? (Tonos, luz, sobras) si los sacaste de algun libro, o algún tutorial. Qué me recomiendas para aprender a colorear comics?. Muchas gracias! Eres un Maestro! n.n!

Bueno, aprendí a hacerlo de manera autodidacta... Luego con tutoriales o video turotiales fuí mejorando, sumado a mucha práctica. Ufff aún me falta mucho, pero cada día hago más cosas. Lo primero que debes hacer es praticar... Pero antes de eso, lo principal es la observación. No solo leas tus comics, observalos! Analiza las imágenes, los colores, que quiere decir el artista con el color: Establece tiempo, espacio, lugares, situaciones... Aparte del dibujo, el entintandor y el colorista también están narrando la historia. Observar y practicar, pero con algo de guía. Cualquier cosa, me envías mensaje. Un gran saludo, Andrés!
