ok so this is a remake of a much older work of mine---> fav.me/d532k30 . i will rename the older one to corundum old just for the sake of the newer one not having a weird title.

i started this last year around july maybe, i can't remember, then my hard drive crashed and i lost all my data and had to recover it. then.... year 2 of my degree hit me like a bus and i was drowning in work. so here i am right now finally posting the finished thing after spending the whole of today working on it.

as you can see, it looks much different to the previous one, especially colour-wise and here's why. corundum is a gem stone and is the main component of rubies, sapphires and garnets as well as a host of other gems. the original artwork was based off of blue corundum, sapphire (even though the colour scheme was more like a halide salt of copper (II), but thats besides the point, :/ ). besides the old one having an outdated and weird composition, the colour scheme was also not befitting of the corundum's many colour variations. as such i made an updated version with a slightly different lay out and totally different colour scheme by including blues, reds and purples. the nebula came out a little dark and bland? (something along those lines), but i think its fine because i wanted the planets to stand out more which they do now. also this is one of the very few works if not the only one where the colour isn't mono-tone. ._. i hope that i can produce images in the future that have more than one colour scheme blending nicely, but we'll see.
p.s. reading my old description is beyond cringe-worthy. ._. was i really that annoying?
