hey guys. i just want to give you all a big thanks for getting me this far. and that would be for the 10,000 pageviews. i could not have gotten this far without your support and help! so thank you!
and as a token of my appreciation, please accept this artwork entitled fermion and its other two, lepton and hadron as part of my 10,000 pageviews special!
its definately a huge step foward in my sci-fi art and a personal favourite. i wanted to put in a little poem, but ran out of time. i may put one in later though.

so please enjoy the artwork and as always, comments, critiques and favs are welcomed and appreciated.

also, print available too!

Well, this is my first critique so please be gentle.

Composition: Great. I really love the planet in the foreground. It's like we're peeking over the planet to view the others. The overall sizes of each planet also help to set depth and distance between each one of them. By that I mean that you can clearly see that there is great distance between them. That or you probably just wanted to put them really close. It goes either way. The only thing that seems off for me is the ring system. I assume it's coming from that small planet near the center. If so, then it looks a bit off to me. Just a little, but that's it really.

Lighting: the light from the upper left illuminating the planets is aesthetically pleasing. It sets the ambience of the picture. It reminds us that this is deep space we're looking at. I assume that it's a star that's emitting this light.

Color: The overall tone is cool. This is critical(at least for me) for achieving a deep space scene. Most if not all space scenes include at least one cool color. After all, this is space we're talking about. It's freaking dark I tell ya!! Color choice here varies (blues, greens, violets) but it works. The white of the planet atmosphere supports your lighting from the upper left by giving it a surface to reflect upon. Of course this is only natural, planets reflect light. Those wisps on the foreground planet are a great touch. It's like solar wind interacting with the upper atmosphere, as if the atmosphere were made of sand. Very nice.

Vision: I can see what you're trying to display here. There is nothing to distract me from the core of the picture.

Originality: I gave you four stars because while you created an unique scene, there's not much you really introduced that we haven't seen(close-up planets, ringed planets, moons, hidden stars). I'm sure this goes to anyone who creates these scenes. Even I do this, so don't take it too hard e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Wink)"/>

Technique: I can't really describe your technique but I can see that between this and your other works there is definitely some consistency in the way you create art. Again, the way you used lighting, composition, and color really help define the word "space" for this scene.

Impact: Just one word. AMAZING!!!

thank you for the critique. and your probably right, the rings do seem slightly off.
but again, thanks!

glad you like it! i'm actually trying to do boson and tachyon. i may also do those that you mentioned as well!

Oh yeah 8D For tachyon why not a Quasar ?

Alpha-Element In reply to Moebiusium [2013-04-05 14:50:39 +0000 UTC]

not a bad idea. but i've never done a quazar before. at my current level of nebula and galaxy work, it seems a bit too risky for an important image such as tachyon. i'll have to practice quasars first, most likely go over a few tutorials and then maybe do a space scape with a quazar as the main focus. thanks for the suggestion though!
