i recommend downloadng to see all detail. also, large file size, sorry if it takes long.

don't worry people, i'm still alive, no need to alert the authorities! it feels good to be back to creating some art after almost three months of inactivity! my abscense was due to school and the mass volume of work associated with this year.

this was originally supposed to be for my 15,000 pageviews achievement and birthday, and was actually finished soon after, but again was delayed by all the work. but besides that, i'll like to thank everyone for helping me get this far and i promise that i won't dissapoint at my current stage and skill level.

but enough of that and a little about the work itself. did this in about 12-16 hours over the coarse of 2 days. most time was spent tweaking it and adding adjustments .... as usuall. but i am very pleased with the outcome! i am especially pleased with the atmospheres on the planets and their textures! the nebula also came out pretty good as well. in total, the file is about 1.8 gb in size and has i believe around 200 or more layers!

thats pretty much all i have to say about the image, or what i could remember at the time about what i wanted to say!

i'm also working on 2, maybe 3 more artworks, 2 of which i want to post before christmas and the other maybe around new years. i assure you that they'll be just as stunning as this one despite the huge amount of work!

so enjoy the image! and remember that comments and critques and favs are welcome and appreciated!

Not sure exactly what to say other than, I prefer your artist-impressions of other planets and solar systems over digital art like this.

Don't get me wrong, the image is great. Well detailed, love the sunrise over the horizon part. My only thought is how close can close get. I wouldn't imagine planets orbiting other planets so close (especially if they're large like Saturn's Titan moon size). Titan for example is at a distance away from Jupiter that if you were standing on the crust of Jupiter, held up a golf ball in your hand to the sky above, you'd be looking at a relative size of Titan.

That being said, you have three planets relatively close to each other, and very large. Not saying it's a bad thing, just I am imagining the scenario as "wouldn't the gravity of the planets be so distorted coz of how close they all are".

You also have to remember, I don't know much about planetary figures. So maybe three planets close to each other is a very real thing.

All in all, great image. Love it, but I do prefer more color than the greyscale-ish ones e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="395" title=" (Lick)"/> oh, and the artist impressions are a lot better e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

well, i think your not seeing the fact that the image is sci-fi. in this genre, its ok to have planets all over the place and trust me, i've seen and created a few artworks with crazier arrangements of planets in them. but again, the point of this genre is to be creative with space.

but, other than that, i do appreciate the critique so thank you!

Wow, absolutely gorgeous! You've managed to portray a great sense of scale with sharp details! The only thing I felt was off is the gas giants texture; when completely zoomed in it's very blurry and a bit distorted. Otherwise, rest of the textures and the image as a whole, very beautiful!

glad you like it! and yes, the gas giant texture was added after the planet was resized, so it got blurred with spherize.
