I could never to get to this level when I was little as I was 3-6 yrs old and trouble with most games like Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I still played them and had fun. But my big brother did most the game-play for me like bosses and hard levels. I recently being Banjo Kazooie and Tooie on my Xbox 360 given to me by big Bro. I love the nostalgia from those game as I still remember everything from those games that I played 18 yrs old. I've successfuly completed most of the 1st game as I just have the final boss to go. I love finally playing Mad Monster Mansion for the first time. The flower pots are very cute. My favourite Banjo transformation is the crocodile and walrus but Pumpkin Banjo is a new favourite of mine as he's so tiny and running into long grass so you can't see him is amusing; plus I can't help but laugh when Mumbo tells you after the spell that he wants to eat you................................................Is it weird that I find the Rippers (tombstones) both big and small so cute and adorable?

When I was that age, I was a SNES child... and yeah, I couldn't get very far on my own, and I would watch my dad get through the harder levels in the Donkey Kong Country games and Super Mario World. I'd always keep begging him and bothering him to keep trying on the hard levels until he won, so I could watch him get farther... when I got older and realized how challenging the later levels can get, I felt pretty bad It must have been super frustrating for him.

I was playing the Banjo games when I was about 10 or 11, so I could beat them on my own, and they're still super nostalgic for me!

Maybe a little weird, considering they're tombstones, hehe. But not too weird, most things in these games are cute.

I adore Tumblar,he's really adorable,& he's called Tumblar the Mighty by himself, but the one that's most famous is the flower pots that sound like they're saying "f@#$*%^ yoooouuuu".

It's a picture of King Jingaling!.... And no, I TOTALLY didn't just look at your responses to the other people... nope... haven't read a single word of them...

Anyway... I'm ashamed to say, but this level scared me a bit when I had first played it... Let's just say I wasn't very brave in my younger days. -_-

Wow! It's really hard to guess! You're just that good... or you pay close attention to my particular fangirlisms and knew what you were looking for...

Me neither. I was scared of all sorts of silly things in video games. MMM never scared me though; in fact, nothing in BK or BT really did. DK64, on the other hand...

Agh, yes, that was terrifying! But what really scared me was the entirety of Frantic Factory. The music, and those... robotic Kremlings with the red eyes... something about how they'd give chase but then suddenly stop and rewind themselves... I dunno, I absolutely refused to go into that level for a while. I saved Chunky and got the hell out.

Hhm... never had a problem with the factory myself, one of my favorite levels actually.

Even now it sends a bit of a chill up my spine, although that may just be related to the damn DK arcade hidden in there.

I think my favorite level would have to be Crystal Caverns... the music was lovely... of course, that's not what I'm judging it on. Gloomy Galleon had the best music in the game period, but that level was a mess. I also like Angry Aztec, because I'm interested in those cultures, but Mayahem Temple still has it beat. Where is Irate Inca, or Zany Zapotec, or Toltec Terror, that's what I want to know.

Oh, and Fungi Forest. It has a lot intrigue.

Ugh.... I remember having soooooo much hate a frustration when I was first trying to beat that stupid arcade game, I guess we younger gamers just aren't cut out for old school difficulty.

I loved so much of the music from DK64, I especially love the boss themes, they can really get you pumped for the fight (Or get you through cross country without passing out).

And Rare knows that. They were being mean. I guess they wanted to school us in the arts of ancient gaming. And a hard lesson it was...

Me too! I was just thinking the other day how lovely it is. The Hideout Helm music (from the actual challenge) is another favorite of mine. It's flippin' intense. And yes, the boss music is distinctive, to say the least. Whirling flutes and blasting trumpets. So Kirkhopian! I love it! DK64 boss music is in its own league. The Banjo-Tooie music is similar, but not as stylistically distinctive.

I wanna say he's, much like The Sims at one point, busting out of a portrait of Capn Blackbeard, but I could be wrong. And now I have a feeling that isn't his name... Oh well. The big ol' Capn from Tooie and who was supposed to be the main baddy in Kazooie.

Altermentality In reply to the-wandering-hobo [2009-09-22 19:13:21 +0000 UTC]

Cap'n Blackeye But it's not him. Think not very hard about what portrait I would choose as a little nod to myself, and you'll get it.

Also, what does that have to do with the Sims- ohh, Bustin' Out!! I got it as I was typing XD

For me it looks like Chompa's sticking out either from CCW's bird-thing nest, BK's beta level Giant's Lair or BT's Terry nest *fail*

Haha! I love the portrait! Thanks for mentioning, I wouldnΒ΄t have noticed myself (though I should have known...)
Yay for Tumblar. I know his game is freaky but IΒ΄ve always had a strange liking for him, heΒ΄s kind of mysterious...

I think you're the only one who got it. Because you and I have the same mind when it comes to him.

Yeah, Tumblar is the most mysterious cup ever...

Tumblar: I'm a glass! A GLASS!

O_o

Tera: What about the Holy Grail?

Oh, right. Sorry, Tumblar.

Tumblar: *sigh*
