Description What the heck, Snacker! Didn't I just see you in another Deviation?

See, back in my day we had to brave the FREAKING ENGINE ROOM and if you fell, you lost those stupid notes that were in there and you had to do it again. You kids with your BK XBLA and your non-resetting notes! Bah! The world has gone soft!

Hey, do you mind if I use some of the bases of the characters for my art? I want to get permission.

I remember when I stepped on the ship in Rusty Bucket Bay I made the very bad decesion to walk past a Flotsam (life saving ring) thinking nothing of it at the time........................... Big mistake and earlier I remember saying "Where are all the bad guy?" Famous last words because a flotsam jumped off the side of the ship and started bouncing around angrily on deck after me when I walked past it as previously mentioned. Straight after that I then made the exact same mistake again when walked past the pipes not realising that they weren't pipes and that some were Grimlets which would growl at you with teeth and then reach over and bite you. I found both the Flotsams and Grimlets cute and would cautiously walk near a Grimlet just to hear his cute and then stand at a safe distance and zoom on his cute but rater angry and toothy face. I also love how which ever direction you turn near Grimlet he'll turn his body so he's facing you. I found these particular Grublins cute because whenever they saw you they'd shout "Ahoy!" perhaps the only English word you ever heard in the game.

I think the Grimlets are cute too! I generally like things with sharp teeth. I love that you had to do a lot of paying attention in Rusty Bucket Bay. You could break some of the windows, and go down some of the pipes, but not all. You had to observe.

Awesome work you have their! Rusty Bucket bay was a level that drove me mad. It was hard enoguh trying to get to the switch which shut the propellers down in the engine room. Banjo-Cutie is a great series of drawings, keep up the awesome work.

Thank you very much! I've just begun to work on them again after taking a break due to college. I'm glad you enjoy them!

First Conker remake ruins the GMP song, then Bond shooters have that stupid regenerating health, and now NON-RESETING NOTES!? The 64 games we know and love have been screwed!
RBB was quite a good level, I quite like it. But I ALWAYS dies in the engine room. that middle fan always catches me off uard >_>
I recently re-started blaying BK again, and it brought back memories.....like how annoying Gruntilda can be <_<

RBB was indeed a good level. They all were (except MM suffers from Generic First Level Syndrome).

Grr, yeah, I hate Grunty. That Jinjo killer; I will never forgive her! But I do appreciate her as a villain, especially in BT when she's at her most evil. Sadly, she was rather a joke in NB ;_; BUT at least she rhymed again, which was sadly missing in BT, I think just because Rare got lazy and didn't feel like straining themselves to communicate all her dialogue through couplets.

Dun' mess with the engine room. |: That was my favourite part of RBB.

I love those little pipe dudes, the ones that try to eat you. I have him stickerfied. You made Snorkel so cute too! I love these so much.

NONRESETTING NOTES?! WTF rawr. That's for wimps!

Aww, thanks, I'm glad you do! I like the little pipe guys too

I know, right?!

Living boxes of TNT? Man, this is quite a game experience that I have missed...

Wait, you never played Banjo-Kazooie?!

Whoa, you have no idea what you missed out on. But it's not too late! Have a 360? Or at least, still have an N64? There's eBay.

Banjo-Kazooie is a great game, and its sequel is my second favorite game ever. They are such awesome 3D adventures.

If you like living boxes of TNT, well, there's also a living toilet, a GIANT mechanical whale-shark thing, flamingly gay frogs, and you can turn into a washing machine that spits tighty whities- well, those last two are in the sequel, but that's just the type of stuff you find in these games...

I hope it comes out on the VC on the Wii. Otherwise I'm screwed.

Oh. It never will Rareware belongs to Microsoft now, so there's not much chance of that happening... I'm sorry. Maybe you'll get your chance someday. If you ever happen to get a 360, you can download both games on there.

I'll be sure to make it one of the first goals if I ever get a 360.

BAWWWWWL...I tried to play B-K on my N64 this morning and it wouldn't work at ALL! Paper Mario works! I'm sure Kirby 64 and Yoshi's Story still work! Why not B-K?!?! I tried everything I could think of... :'(

I don't even REMEMBER the engine room...that makes me SO sad...this was my favorite level! Ships are great! I also liked Clanker's Cavern, because of the music...and the swamp, because of the frogs and gators and turtles...etcetera...

Altermentality In reply to Katie-Yoshi [2009-06-19 20:42:59 +0000 UTC]

Oh no! How distressing Whenever my cartridges don't work, I use that tried and true method- blowing on it- and it almost always fixes it. Or sometimes just jiggle it around in the system.

Didn't you get it on the Xbox though?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Katie-Yoshi In reply to Altermentality [2009-06-19 22:36:25 +0000 UTC]

I'll try wiggling it around later... I hope it works...!

No, I got B-T, but not B-K...

Haha, YES, but I couldn't find the entrance to that level...I haven't played that game in so long! Sheesh...I felt so stupid.

Specter-Von-Baren [2009-06-17 03:45:58 +0000 UTC]

Indeed! Kids today don't know how good they got it... and yet at the same time, WE didn't know how good we had it in comparison to NES games and such.

Altermentality In reply to Specter-Von-Baren [2009-06-17 17:06:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, we're just like the gripey middle-aged baby boomer generation. The NES people are the true wise-but-cranky old men. That was before my time.

DraggyTheDragon [2009-06-16 18:50:16 +0000 UTC]

Oh man, to this day, I refuse to do the engine room. Or go in the water for that matter... I could do any water-related parts with one of the sandcastle cheats, but for anything involving the engine room, I had to bug my brother to do it for me. I didn't want to fall in that area (same goes for the lava room in Grunty's Lair.).

The horrid memories... DX

Altermentality In reply to DraggyTheDragon [2009-06-17 17:12:44 +0000 UTC]

Ah, the lava room, I fell off that path plenty of times. I'm always in a hurry and want to run everywhere, which gets me into trouble in places like that. It probably ends up taking me more time- because I keep dying and having to start over- than if I'd just slowed down and taken my time in the first place.

*gasp* XBLA HAS NON-RESETTING NOTES?! Sweet jebus, I have to get that now. XD
I've just re-braved the engine room just a few weeks ago on the 64, so the pain is fresh in my mind.

AUGH. TELL YOUR FLOTSAM TO STOP STARING INTO MY SOUL. DDD': Okay, okay! I didn't really like your level that much! Stop leering at me!

*gasp* You... wimp!

I must say though, I'm thankful for the easification in a way- as my life has gotten so much busier, I don't often have the time to go through a whole level and find all the notes in one sitting anymore =/ (Unless it's Mumbo's Mountain XD)

Isn't it ironic that a lifesaver tries to kill you? I mean, who can you even trust anymore?!
