The first tutorial by alyn released for my website, except that isn't up yet.... so erm... released here.

And, please EXPERIMENT around what i've laid out here, change the ctrl+u values, try different blending modes, you might well stumble across something new and BETTER.

as for the example image, a few other effects and techniques went into that to enhance the effects... so don't be restricted by the full stop at the end of point 5.
