Description
NewsFlash, The Libel LightningReal Name: Tina Trivia
Powers: Speedster Physiology ; Paper Mimicry & Manipulation ; Enhanced Investigation and finally Information Detection
Equipment: None
First Appearance: Deviantart (2/14/2019)
Origin
(---"If anyone is the physical definition of Yellow Journalism, it would be Tina Trivia. A professional mud slinger who uses their talents in investigative journalism to not only expose rather personal information about her target, but also use that information to severely slander them with her own brand of blatant libel. And while Tina's headlines and stories sold papers back on her old world, she was later fired and blacklisted from her job in mainstream press due to multiple libel lawsuits filed towards her and her home company.
She became a freelance reporter after her firing, willing to be hired to find the latest scoop and continue to ruin lives with her falsehoods. Whether it'd be claiming that an innocent man is a violent misogynist, a woman being a STD ridden harlot, or even a class of christian boys as a gang of smug racists; no one with a modicum of media presence was safe.
Though things will change for Tina, whether she likes to or not.
One night as she was scoping out a celebrity's lakeside home, she ended up falling into a rainbow colored portal that formed beneath her. She tumbled through the tunnel as she fell unconscious. She woke up a few minutes later, into the world of Sargasso, The Ever-Changing City . And she ended up becoming a super fast, humanoid pile of newspapers, which after some practice, she started to really enjoy as now she can get the scoop on the various going ons in The City, and also add her own bit of "spice" that she adds to the stories, becoming something of a professional blackmail merchant that can be paid to find information on a target.
Plus her newfound speed and power over newspapers made getaways from both unhappy heroes and villains rather easy.
You can mostly find her hideout in the 30s district in an abandoned press room, with her typewriter creating stacks of dossiers on the different people in Sargasso."---)
I doubt that you would see this kind of character in The Flash TV series. Though maybe if she was in the DC universe, she would be a "journalist" that worked for the Daily Planet and was struck by the same kind of lightning that gave The Flash his powers. And if someone wanted to make commentary on the current state of mainstream journalism as a continuous deluge of slander against anything their corporate masters deems to be the enemy, here's the character for you.
This character was made using Hero Machine 3.
Newsflash is an open source character created specifically for use by anyone. Feel free to use it any way you wish. You must also give creator credit.

Gotta say, I do like her design. Iβve always loved the trench coat and fedora combo. Shame sheβs the type of journalist whoβd rather ruin lives than aid justice by exposing genuine criminals.

Yeah, she would be on J. Jonah Jameson's payroll if she volunteered to investigate NYC's heroes & villains and slander them relentlessly while exposing their private details to the public.

Thanks for that.
I'll save this in case I need it. Maybe for a possible crossover with either Superman or Spiderman.

A little water here, some fire there. I think the only person who might not want to recycle her would be J. Jonah Jameson. Those two would probably get along pretty well.

Agreed. Tina would probably be someone JJ would pay under the table to get some dirt on Spiderman. I mean Jameson did have a hand with the creation of the Spider Slayers & The Scorpion, so I can see him teaming up with someone who is as much of a smear merchant as him.

Bulldog and NewsFlash, the Deadline Duo.
Bulldog: newspaper jargon for the earliest/first edition of a newspaper.

I didn't know that. Sounds like an interesting idea!
Though how to do it is the question.
Any ideas?

Regular old fanfiction I'd say. That's about the only way Jameson and NewsFlash could meet without the writer being summarily, legally, and financially executed by Disney. I've considered some non-canon type stories where the MLP cast find themselves in The Sea, for example.

Oh, when you said Bulldog, you're talking about Jameson. I thought that you mean like a new character named Bulldog that fit with the journalist theme.
And funny you mention fanfic crossovers, I was thinking of a couple of crossover ideas which all begin with The Expulsion: The event that involves the continent being fractured and ejected from The Sea and into the Omniverse.
You could have crossovers like The Weird Boys going into either the Teen Titans animated universe or if for the lunacy of it, MLP.
Maybe have The Aberrant Men ending up in the DCU and forced into working with Amanda Waller in her new Suicide Squad. Though to Waller's frustration, this group isn't as bloodthirsty as her previous squads.
Or Weathervane with him and his town ending up in the world of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Plenty of good ideas to draw from. Bulldog could also be an original character rather than Jameson?

Maybe a free version of JJ?
Someone who has a serious chip on their shoulder about superhumans and uses the power of the press to constantly print libel of everyone with a superpower, heroes, villains, whoever.

I've got a blank slate character that might work well as an open source Jameson. His name is Crawford Wright. Going to upload his image here in a moment.
