Description
So this is the WIP for the comic that I'm doing for my portfolio that'll send to Gothenburgs University. Inspired mostly by Lana Del Rey's song 'Dark Paradise'. Here's the [link] to the song.Feel free to give me both good and bad critique, because I really want - and NEED - this to be the best piece I've ever done, if I'll be sending it as a part of my portfolio.
As this is only the WIP, the pictures are VERY 2D, with little to no shading, no colors and hardly any backgrounds, so that I already know and I will of course fix that for the finished piece.

Oh shit, I think it's awesome. Are you allowed to submit fan art into a professional porfolio though? And will the people you're sending it to even understand? I think the impact will be lessened if they've never played/heard of Mass Effect.

I'm allowed to submit whatever kind of art that I want, as long as it's mine and follows the instructions. And though they might not understand the story behind it and the impact won't be as big, but my portfolio is for an art school, so they will mostly look at the quality of the art, so hopefully it will be enough for me to get in. ^^

I wish we would've too. I get that they showed Anderson and Joker, since they aren't a part of Shepard's "team", but honestly? My Shepard and Liara are friends, good ones, but it just felt odd that she was in the flashback when people like Tali and Garrus wasn't even though they've been with her through all the games. Or Kaidan (if you romanced him), or Thane (or whoever you romanced). Sorry BioWare, but my Shepard would think about Thane and not Liara in her final (I think) moments. >.<

I think the idea behind the flashbacks was to show, as a whole, people Shepard cared for: Joker-friend, colleague, someone who served under her command and she cares and feels responsible for; Anderson-father figure, family in a sense; and lover...aka whoever Shep romanced and yup, mine would think of Thane too, not Liara, not in the slightest!:/
One more badly dropped ball in the Thane ME3 romance-and calling it that very loosely, it was barely worth the name!

Agreed. And it couldn't have been that hard to program so that it showed Shepard's last LI instead of Liara, right? I'm not that good at programming, but I'm pretty sure that if I had their skill, it would be as easy as it is for me to change the size of a picture with HTML-codes... >.>

Now that's exactly what I wanted! Just a simple, two second long flashback of Thane. That's it. Hopefully BioWare will give that so me (uh... us X'3) in the DLC, but you never know... >.>

Worried about the dlc, too, I have to say; concerned they'll seek to please Kaidan/Ashley/Liara fans and once more neglect the rest of us-though I really hope they don't, I like BW, but my respect for them took a hit with ME3 and Thane and those endings; I'd like them to get it right to make us all happy again!

I don't think that they'll neglect us again, if they decide to fix that and edit so that we get Kaidan and Ash too, instead of just Liara. Or... at least I hope they don't! I'm not as mad about the endings as other fans seem to be, because I respect that they did what they wanted to, I was just confused about a few things, like why the relays would blow up, and how that didn't kill all life in the systems with relays, like when you destroyed the replay in the Arrival DLC. :/
I absolutely don't mind! I would've wanted to submit the colored version to it, but since I don't want to rush the finished comic, I wasn't able to meet their deadline D':

It was kinda lame how he doesn't even get a washed out shot of his face at the end(i think everyone who died should, especially a dead love interest, but that's me).

I agree with you. I would've wanted the last person she though of to be Thane, who was her LI, rather than Liara. Yeah, sure, Liara is her friend, but she's not that high on the list of who my Shep would think of in her final moments.

My afterlife would be epic, think Valhalla from norse religion crossed with christian heaven, except you can sin all you want(within reason).
Totally, I mean it makes sense if though all 3 games you stayed faithful, but what about Garrus and Tali? They were there from the beginning too. I really did like thane, and i think he deserved better(although he did fairly well in kicking kai leng's arse, while dying!). I figured Mordin should have a shot as well(if he died anyway). After he dies the game more of less forgets about him.

Yeah, exactly. Garrus is my Shep's best friend. After that, Tali. And then... maybe then Liara, but Shep is still a bit pissed about Liara giving her body to Cerberus. And if they didn't want to give flashbacks of dead people, how about giving the Shepard I romanced Garrus with a flashback of Garrus himself? I mean... Yeah, the last three people Quinn thinks about is... Anderson...Joker AAAAAAAAAAAND LIARA!! Uh, no wait, that's wrong.
I can imagine that X'3 But I'm going to edit them all, making them look less... happy and more beat up. Like people during a war with a superior species.

haha, i meant human version of Valhalla(nice catch about the asgard though). Drinking, eating, fighting(possibly whoring, i don't recall >.>). But it seemed like a particularly awesome version of heaven.
Garrus is always first on everyone's list, he's such a bro! I expected a brofist after every fight with him along. I doubt anyone let him die either.
Anderson is expected, he's like the closest thing Shep has to a father, and he's such a reasonable guy from the start. joker, sure, his development made him a good character, one of my favs. But yeah the railroading with liara, ash or kaiden just seems so cheap, it couldn't have taken more than a day or 2 to add more similar shots of others.
Mmm, goodo, at least they're not black smoke people. I reckon you should put mordin and stuff in there too, just because. Donno if you can draw salarians or not.

Aha.~ Yeah, well, since I'm Swedish it's a part of my history, so we learn about it a lot in school in both religion and history classes
Yeah, I know. Hell, they just needed to take an already finished clip of any of the characters and put that in. It can't be that hard really, considering what BioWare can do.
I haven't drawn salarians before, but I thought of putting some of the other races, but then I think I wanted to make this more about Earth and the civilians there that she couldn't save.

Indeed, they always do something with all of your team in others. I kind of expected to see the whole team up there, all the people you met with, like Kirrahe, your WHOLE squad, Hackett, every damn person. True, from a developer like Bioware it just comes of as massively lazy.
Mmm, a good idea, Thessia comes to mind, the only time Shepard has truly lost(damnit kai leng, you're such a cheater). Shep heres a few asari dying as well, that was particularly sad for me

Nah, it's still pretty epic, just not the afterlife X'3 And all religions are pretty sucky when it comes to the afterlife part. You always have to do EVERYTHING right, otherwise it'll suck when you die.
And if not everyone you met, then at least everyone you knew that died.
