- Day 30: Fear -

Niv stayed long enough to apologize and reconnect with Scamper – they walked along their boundaries together, making plans to go exploring – but then she felt a nagging urge and, with a brief explanation to Scamper, she teleported.

The floodwaters had left damage but had now receded back to the rivers. Niv saw no sign of the reindeer-like esk, the one that had been transformed from a deer. What had happened to the doe’s fawns? Had they met a terrible fate within Seventh’s range or had they gone peacefully into the afterlife?

Niv was splashing through the river when the frost climbed across the surface and up one of her forelegs. She let loose a mental eep! and leapt away from the spreading frost. The half-spin of the leap revealed that Niv had put herself into Seventh’s path.

Now Niv heard the jarring noise emitted by this Wanderer and though she was not prepared for the psychic anguish she handled it relatively well. After all, she was no stranger to these pains. Individuals were harshest on themselves, were they not?

Through all of it Niv still felt fear. Even if she could weather the mental pain this was a Wanderer of great persuasion and power. The last thing Niv wanted was its attention – which it seemed she might get as the Wanderer slowed.

Niv cowered.

Just as Seventh’s head tilted downward as though to stare down at her, Niv teleported.

I am so creeped out by Seventh *shudders*
For the record, Niv isn't seeking Seventh out (she's creeped out by it too) so these two encounters to date are by chance.
