This photo shows one of the Renault FT sections sent to occupy Strasbourg to reinstate order amidst an insurgency that had been growing since early 1918. The insurgency had dissipated soon after French troops began to occupy and integrate the Alsace-Lorraine region back into French rule. The region would lose its autonomy and would be reintegrated back into the centralized French system, though a strong home rule movement would remain.

"Le Tigre" was the nickname of Georges Clémenceau, Prime Minister of France throughout the Great War, so it was a popular phrase painted on the Renault FT.
