Description
This is a Prototype Renault FT fitted with the First Ever Omnibus Turret and a dummy Puteaux 37 SA Modèle 1918 gun.
More specifically, this is the Renault-Girod Tourelle Prototype. This is the first design of an "omnibus" turret that could mount either the Hotchkiss heavy machine gun or a 37 mm cannon. The Renault FT could only mount a machine gun before these types of turrets were produced. Like all of the original Renault FT prototypes, the vehicle was painted in gris artillerie (artillery grey).
