Description
No, I have not abandoned wire work - not by any means. This is one of those pieces to show that yes, I've been busy. This piece is a "sunset topaz," a white topaz that has been cut using curved facets to make the colors even deeper and wilder. This stone is, well, big. Very big. But I love it.
Someone once offered me some good money for it if I'd re-wrap it in gold for them. But I think the silver makes for a better setting.
Your thoughts?

No way! Gold makes the best setting for anything red, orange or yellow! But the stone is fantastic!

Yap!
Silver amongst me is to jewels what B&W is to graphic photography.... goes straight to deepness

Totally silver. It has the better drama content for the stone. (And I use and wear both so can say I'm mostly unbiased )

Thank you! I love this one, even though it has a small flaw in the stone that I found after I wrapped it....gives it more character. But then it is a character...

Imo, the silver suits it better than gold would. But I'm biased towards silver anyways

Thanks! I like the silver better as well...I think it makes it light up more. Gold would have lowered the "party content" of the stone.
