I'm having some trouble with Powerstroke...I'm using Inkscape instead of Ponyscape, and I think some of the settings are different. For one example, i don't have "CubicBeziersmooth", just "CubicBezierFit".

Latest Inkscape has 'Centripetal Catmull-Rom' instead of Smooth and it's close enough.

When you apply the power stroke effect, you need to switch from stroke color to fill color since IS doesn't do it automatically and it should be okay.

Language is in Preferences(Ctrl-Shift-P)-Interface. If the Path Effects window isn't on screen alread (it should be by default), then you can open it with Ctrl-Shift-7.

Set the setting, move the pink nodes around (sometimes just delete them). It's really easy.

I tried to clip on the eye but for some reason, the iris and pupil seems to vanish.

You should try masking instead of clipping. It works for me!

I put the white eye shape in front of the iris and pupil with eyeshines, then I selected the shapes behind the white fill and clicked "Clip".

Well, I can't really tell what goes wrong and clipping doesn't work as you want it to, because what you do should do it fine.

You might be creating an empty object. Check the Fill/Stroke window.

Hm, maybe it's something with transparency. Check both alpha channel and transparency settings in Fill/Stroke (maybe in Layers, too, just in case).

First, you make the eye shape, then add top and/or bottom "bounds", and finally change the eye shape by those "bounds". Sometimes, when an eye is open very narrow, it's easier to make top and bottom lines first, and then make the shape with just pen tool, because it won't be as much round.

Well, if eye is elliptical you can start from the general shape with Ellipse tool, otherwise you can start from the shape or black outlines with Pen tool.

Okay, first, you don't need to split 1 character on several layers, 1 layer for 1 character is almost always enough. Second, you're creating too many nodes for both strokes and fills. Take a look at my cleaned up version sta.sh/01e9pq4q7t0m
