EDIT: er, P.S.? This is NOT yaoi. It's a platonic family relationship pic O_o;Sort of doujinishi thing from a cosmically awesome old rpg with I was Sesshoumaru, she was Inuyasha. Set MANY years after the end of the manga (which now in canon reconciles them in the final chapter, 558), Inuyasha is feeling angsty one new moon night after an explosive argument with big brother-sama, who follows and gently chastises him for thinking things are still the way they were a very long time ago when they literally wanted to kill each other. His line: "Whether you live or die does matter to me...baka otouto-chan." (lol then he's like "Now come inside because this Sesshoumaru is sick of saving your stupid ass." LOL. It's like the one chapter in the manga where he saves Inuyasha's life by punching him in the jaw to wake him up, LOL....
I luffs them....) Lmao in our rpg's, Sesshoumaru always calls Inuyasha "baka otouto-chan," which translates as a familiar form of "stupid little brother," LOL
. It's like the most affectionate thing he ever calls Inuyasha, in keeping IC, lol

One of my favorites in your Inuyasha collection. I completely agree, for instance in Chapter 405, Sesshoumaru tells Inuyasha he's in the way of his battle with Morymomaru (LOL! spelling?) but I always believed he knew Inuyasha wasnt strong enough to win against him, so he tried to keep him from fighting M by pushing him back himself. Let's not get into WHY Sesshoumaru has to hide all his feelings... but yeah. Nicely drawn Inuyasha especially, and another underappreciated theme bravely presented.

Oh yes, lmao. "You're in the way" is Sesshomaru's code for "I care and am protecting you, dumbass."
I have my theories as to the why's but they're all within the realms of psychology as well as Sengoku-Era Japanese culture, lol. So it might be a dry read for you 
If you watch the third Inuyasha movie, Sesshomaru protecting Inuyasha is exceedingly obvious, even to the point that Miroku and Sango comment upon it and Sesshomaru almost dies getting in the way of a blow that Takimaru intends for lil bro. And lol once again shouts, "YOU'RE IN THE WAY." Like, bawls it out in exasperation, hehe.

Oh CONTRARE! I just didnt figure we would have enough time or space here under your lovely picture... but I would LOVE to hear it, as I have trouble putting my theories into words. But what is interesting is you are putting many of my ideas into your pictures... and Im pleased to find others who see Sesshoumaru as quite complex.
I um... do have the third movie, but Im anxious to watch it. Im actually quite the purist in that I havent even watched the ENTIRE anime, although what I see mostly tells me anything of real importance hasnt been tampered with.

The third film is actually the only film that I consider canon-worthy (although parts of the first are as well). It's approved by Rumiko Takahashi, so I feel safe including it in my list of "facts" about the whole Inu Clan. Furthermore, it provides a radically useful explanation/answer regarding MANY topics. Allow me to rave about its yayness, LOL:
1) The debut, in a flashback, of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha's father, known not in name, but only by his formal title, the "Inu no Taishou." This debut interestingly both mystifies and demystifies "Inupapa," as fandom calls him, at once. You can also see traces of both his sons in his behavior and appearance, which I find rather poignant. Also included is a scene of Izayoi birthing Inuyasha, and Sesshomaru blaming Inuyasha's birth for their father's death (I won't spoil it for you with how and why), which is the beginning of his fierce anger toward otouto-san.
2) A trajectory of reasoning (which I will indeed discuss in another post, if you like
3) Numerous open demonstrations, throughout the film, of Sesshomaru feeling compelled to love and protect Rin (even though, WHILE protecting Rin, Jaken, and Inuyasha from the main villain of the plot, he haughtily claims he has "no one to protect." Fans have agonized over the real meaningof this line, since Sesshomaru tends to SAY things that are very different from his actions and true inner feelings. One popular reading, which I agree with, is "I have no one to protect because I, who am unsurpassed in power and skill, have already succeeded in protected them"). Over and over in this movie, Sesshomaru drops everything and runs immediatly to Rin's aid when she calls for help. Near the beginning, he is even badly wounded when he does so, and you can just FEEL his urgency to take care of her. You'll know the scene when you see it. It's so cool... Furthermore, a theme that unites the two brothers as very similar types of men: men who swear to protect the privileged few whom they love and trust, as their most central purpose in life--and indeed, as Inuyasha says, a purpose that is a source of infinite strength in battle (Sesshomaru takes note of lil bro's remark and seems genuinely impressed by Inuyasha's line of reasoning).
4) A demonstration of how well the two brothers work together against a common enemy. And lol some funny lines while they're collaborating, too: "Inuyasha, your 'Wind' Scar is more like a Gentle Breeze Scar," "HEY that's playing DIRTY, Sesshomaru! Get back here and help me fight these guys!", saying the same thing at once then being pissed that they said the same thing at once, etc, lol.
5) A demonstration of Sesshomaru's superior maturity (lol) to Inuyasha's, because in crunch time, Sesshomaru is the hero of this film. Sesshomaru's the one who breaks down and compromises and saves everyone in the final pinch.

In short, LOL, I agree with and have developed some theories from pure manga reading *pats self* and am glad to learn they have validity, as it sounds like the film will support what I already think of his personality and his reasons. Rave on, sister!

lol a LOT of old sore points between them regarding Izayoi disrupting the solidarity of Sesshomaru's nuclear family, plus Sesshomaru being angry at Inuyasha for not seeing that it is hard for him to be so open and vulnerable with others, etc etc on and on XD Some pretty vicious verbal exchanges. Perhaps I'll post up the rp log sometime lol.

Awww...I love your anime related work!! Your style is amazing! One of my most memorable moments of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru is from the third movie where Sesshomaru pushes his younger brother out of the way...saving him. And I have always thought it was so funny that neither of them mention or acknowledge it. LOL Great job as always!!
