Description Not as good as I wanted, but it's a quick sketch to tide you guys over for a better drawing of these two. I have a hard time making her look vulnerable because she is such a resourceful, strong woman. :^/

Holmes looks a little bedraggled. Naturally, such a woman would have that effect on him. Hence why he generally avoids becoming entangled with women. One could say that perhaps "the woman" he refers to is his one true weakness....

great pic

Ah LOVES it!!! ^_^ But why does Holmes have that "EEK! They caught us!" look on his face?

Well the finished work will have a cemetary all around them, and in the foreground, the direction in which Hound is gazing, will have Elizabeth Hardy's tombstone. You see, in my fics and pics, he has a great deal of trouble getting close to women, even women he likes (Mrs. Hudson, in this case Irene Adler) because of an internal scarring and fear of losing yet another love. This is something I picked up off of the film "The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes" (in which he calls all women "unreliable" and, however politely, still coldly denounces them) and of course "Young Sherlock Holmes."

So the look is more like "oh God I don't think I can do this" than "oh crap, they caught us."

Wow! I will love that story. I LOVED "Young Sherlock Holmes"!!! It's one of Spielberg's finest, which IMHO deserved more respect than it sometimes gets. But then, I'm shamelessly biased.

What's funny is when I was watching that film in January of 2000 (part of a Sherlock Holmes birthday celebration), I was working on my Basilian story, "In Memory of Elizabeth". When I heard the name of Holmes' sweetheart, Elizabeth, you could have knocked me over with a feather!!! Of course, it's a common name for a woman in England, but isn't that weird?

Oh wow, I thought you named her "Elizabeth" on purpose because of that movie! LOL!! That IS weird!!

*grins* I know it! I actually named her after my great-grandmother, Elizabeth Chamberlain. She died in the Spanish Flu Epidemic during the turn of the century, so my great-grandpa married Ethel O'Banion. She was my own namesake; originally, they were going to name me Elizabeth, but decided on Ethel. It's a name that's been kicked around a lot, but I've come to recognize its worth. Besides, I was named after a really grand lady!!!

*thinks* Maybe I could. I need to get some more info on it, though---this is where some genealogy people would help. I wish a lot of my family members had kept journals!

Got lots to do, so I'll be off. Have a great day!
