Description Third and final entry for Slayers Action at "

All the modern vessels of Shabranigdu must continuously battle--a form of psychological, emotional, and physical action--against the alien parasite that their souls host.

And it is always Lina Inverse who has to battle Shabranigdu in all his forms--in a way, she too is haunted.

Here Lina begins to cast one of her powerhouse spells--probably Dragon Slave, which ironically calls on Shabranigdu's power--while contemplating all the allies and enemies she has known of or has had to face who were driven to self-destruction by the torment of the maoh's presence (Lei Magnus, Red Priest Rezo Greywers, and Luke the Assassin).

Once again, I take the "action" prompt as more metaphorical than literal.

I apologize for the colors. No matter how many times I photographed this and farted around in Gimp, the colors still seem simultaneously garish and washed out. Oh well, deadline is tomorrow so submit I must.

This is wonderful! Very touching and haunting picture! Rezo looks very tragic, Lei Magnus just evil..not sure about the last...Luke?

Wonderful job!

I think all three are tragic. I think Lei went insane seeing the atrocity of mazoku-orchestrated war and how it unraveled all the lofty ideals and scientific breakthroughs he worked toward, Rezo went insane being branded a handicap and wanting out of that prison of darkness and alienation at too high a cost, and Luke who was already sort of spiritually sketchy as an assassin simply fell madly in love with a woman who never reciprocated his love, who was murdered, becoming consumed with vengeance. I like to feel sorry for all of them, rofl.

Thank you so much!

There is sorrow for all of them, all have circumstances that we pity them for

Except the crab lord Shabranigdo

I really like this take on the theme, especially Lina drawing on the same power she seeks to defeat.

That is so kind of you ^__^ I am not pleased with how it translated from real image to photograph. I am still getting used to Gimp and...let me say fussing with colors for me is rather like you say you fuss with and have "weird hangups over" words. SIGH. But I tried. I guess I could pat myself on the back for drawing this in one day

Making avatars/banners/desktop wallpapers is a hobby of mine, so I totally get how color manipulation can drive a person completely up the wall @_@

You did this in one day? That's amazing!

YES. But it's SO MUCH EASIER in Photoshop than in Gimp. I dunno why. I am just more used to the tools.

Awwww thank you. I think it made it look crappy =/ but you are kind!

I've never used GIMP, but it's hard to get used to new art programs X_x. Hopefully it'll have all the options you need once you're more used to navigating it.
