Description
Infinity on the border of Heaven and Hell.Originally for the "The Curse of the Reverse!" contest over at (deemed ineligible because I missed a subtle distinction about something in the rules). Made in the opposite way from normal--instead of picking one formula and varying the OCA, I picked one OCA and varied the formula. There are 5 layers total to this image, all with different formulae. I chose Triangle Inequality Average for both my OCA and ICA--the contest didn't say anythign about whether or not we could vary the ICA, and I didn't feel like taking chances. Besides which, it meshes very well to have the same coloring algorythm (bah, can't spell) on the inside and outside of each formula.
EDIT: Dammit! Apparently, my image is ineligible because layers 4 and 1 use the same formula, and I can't get rid of either without making the whole thing just fall flat. Back to the drawing board.

You are right. The border between Heaven and Hell is perhaps a beautiful fractal (and thus of infinite lenght)!!!

omg i just want to jump right in!!!!! Ha ha I don't know why, but it's strangely intriguing.

a very surreal dreamscape. Makes you feel as if your in a trippy palace high up above the clouds... and DEEP below the darkest depths of the ocean all at the same time... the only ONE thing I think you could add to possibly make this better (since it is already just SO FUCKING GOOD) is some flora and fauna.

Thanks.
I meant it to be more of a heaven vs. hell kind of vision, and it for a contest as well at the time. I don't think I'll be adding anything else to it, but you never know...

The more I look at it the more I love it.

really great Job. I enjoy the movement that you have achieved with all the spirals

I'm sorry to hear about this being ineligible for your competition. I can't say I know much about fractal art (I do have a fractal drawing in my gallery, but it's not computer-generated: - it's a pencil-and-paper version of the Koch Snowflake!), but it is very pretty, and a good use of colour.
Sorry for the lateness of the reply (revision :meh: ), and I don't suppose you'd care to tell me what OCAs and ICAs are, would you?

The OCA and ICA is Triangle Inequality Average, on all of the layers. I varied the formula to get the texture instead of the OCA.
Better late than never!

what a bummer Erin, I like this one very much, the coloring and the whole composition reminds me
on these images in these airbrushed comic style, very pretty!

Thanks. By far, this is my best piece in terms of texture and color.

I love this one. It looks like a traditional painting. And I thought it looked familiar, so I guess I saw it earlier during submissions for the Curse of the Reverse contest. I'm sorry it didn't work out, but it's still a gorgeous fractal.
Btw, thanks so much for the comments between you and luminara. I just happened to be glancing through the comments and saw that I was mentioned and I really appreciate it

And you're welcome.

There's nothing like the Phoenix Julia...great formula! I love it very much and you've done a nice job playing with it. I like these colors and the way you've used them. Well done! Sorry it didn't qualify...you'll do something even better, I'm sure!

I also have a <3 for Pheonix Julia--I use it alot. It's gives you that classical nautilus shell shape that everyone identifies with fractal art, so it's easily recognizable.
I did get one in for the contest--Moebus (aka Reverse #9) was my second try, and I was much more careful.

I agree about the formula...it's a beauty and I've used it many times as well. I'm glad you got one into the contest...good for you!

Hehe... you rock hon... I'm just here to let you know
You, , , and :casperium: , are like THE best digital/fractal artists on here... in my most humble opinion! OH, and I can't forget and They're quite awesome as well. All of you guys introduced me to a new realm, although I'll never get as good as you all, but it's nice to be able to try it, ya know.

Lol, I'm just a beginner too! I muck around until I find something I like, then expand on it. I don't have nearly the expertise or subtlety of =judazfx , *plutonian-D , or *sharkrey (my personal hero).
Hell, this fractal is by far my most complex one.

You are very good... definitely more than just a beginner Hehe! My most complex ones... are [link] & [link] That's not that good really... at least not in comparison to yours. Of course, I don't have all the expensive programs... lack of money, but then again, I'd rather focus on my photography... and just dabble in fractal

I got UltraFractal for free.
If you want some help getting ahold of it, drop me a note.
I've only got 2 fractals with more layers than this one--and one of them is butt ugly! Most of my fractals have only 1 or 2 layers.
