Description
I did a model making and special effects course when I was at uni and made this little guy.Edit:
THIS IS NOT REAL. It is made by creating a chavant sculpt, moulding in fiberglass and casting in platinum silicone which you can buy from mouldlife [link] I would never cause harm or distress to an animal.

hey there yeah it was an amazing course it was called model design and special effects at hertfordshire uni in england. We learnt how to sculpt, mould, cast etc. People made animatronic crteatures, minature sets, armour all sorts of things and we got work experience on films like batman begins and charlie and the chocolate factory plus I got work experience with a taxidermist for about a year it was awesome. I'd like to get back into it some day since I'm working mainly with digital but I made a model jellyfish a few weeks ago if you wanna see on my blog [link]
thanks for the comment xxx

wow! that's incredible. I have some ideas that I just can't make with polymer clay and would love to try a different medium. is this the stuff you need to inject into molds and bake or is this something entirely different?

AmeliaMoo In reply to True-Crimeberry [2010-07-11 20:50:39 +0000 UTC]
Hi there thanks for the comment and sorry for my long reply. Yes this type of silicone is the type you can inject or pour into a mould. It dosen't need baking it comes in two parts which begin to set when you mix them together if you're interested this is the company who supply this type of silicone [link] I hope that helps you xxx
