However, you would need a sturdy bracer to attach said Hookblade.Β

I know you get this question a lot, but I was wondering if you did commissions on these. I've been planning to do a Ezio cosplay and all of the hidden blades I've seen so far aren't nearly as well put together.

Beyond that question, and after seeing the video, I have to say that that is one amazing hook blade. The way it goes from hook to blade is genius, and the detail is amazing. It would be interesting to see if it could hold someones weight. Requiring, of course, that it was made out of sturdy enough material. ^_^

I would love to buy this of of you! I am a big Assassins Creed enthusiast and would love to have something like this in my collection.

I am willing to pay 200- 250 dollars but would it be possible for it to be DA-OTF or is that out of the question??

Thanks! Email me here if you wish: dcampbel@radrower.com

The-Kyu-Shop [2012-03-31 05:04:23 +0000 UTC]

so the hook-slide part of the hookblade is loose from the blade itself, allowing the blade full range in combat as well?

that explains so much now.
(never was sure if there was a blade under the hook. it was in the name after all XD)

Nazo-The-Unsolvable In reply to The-Kyu-Shop [2012-05-10 16:53:47 +0000 UTC]

yeah. If you press it into something, the hook part will just slide down since it's not locked in. The blade is the locked part, so when pressure is applied, only the loose part(hook) will retract, the blade will pierce. It's why the hook blade was used for lifting you up higher walls and pulling people towards you in battle. It didn't go against the lock.

Oh, can it hold up any weight? that's what's intriguing me right now o.o

ammnra In reply to Jado5010 [2012-03-16 03:38:03 +0000 UTC]

Theoretically yes, but practically no. All the tensile load bearing parts/pins/connections are steel but the hook and hook slider are plastic. If I wanted to throw out another $100-150 to get those parts milled/3D printed in steel I could put that claim to the test.... but it's only meant to be a prop.

Although, I think the whole Hook Blade thing could be ~roughly~ feasible if made from the right materials and if it were combined with a cable (stealthy running down a sleeve) connecting the hook blade case to a hidden climbing harness.... might help eliminate the whole β€œextreme arm dislocation” issue that's kinda glossed over in the game.

I see. It'd be amazing to see that, but it'd be pretty pricey, I'm guessing. o.o

Yeah, they tend to forget about human anatomy in games for the sake of gameplay.
