“Cryptic-Clidus”

Cryptoclidus eurymerus. Hypsocormus insignis. A digital painting of a Crypotclidus ambushing a fish in the style of a wobbegong shark.

This was an idea I had sometime early last year and more or less finished it by early November 2022, but it wasn’t up to my satisfaction until I made a few tweaks with the composition and colors this year.

It is another play on the idea Jon Conway did in All Yesterdays. I can’t recall if he also chose a cyrptoclidid plesiosaur, since they have necks that are a more reasonable length in comparison to other plesiosauromorph plesiosaurs and didn’t seem too far-fetched for them to behave in this way.

I may revisit this idea again in the near future with a different composition.

Completed in early June 2023.
