Description
"Indomitable"Tyrannosaurus Rex. A recent painting of my favorite dinosaur done in acrylics. This tyrannosaur stands in contrast with my majestic tyrannosaur queen [link] as he looks much more βmaleβ and a lot older and cantankerous than the sleek, calculative female of that other painting. This tyrannosaur looks like a battle hardened king who has bested all of his prey and rivals, earning him a menagerie of scars all over his body. The background did not come out too well but who cares? The T-rex just grabs your attention.
This piece was inspired by Sideshow's Dinosauria line's Tyrannosaurus Rex Maquette. That piece is beautiful
And in the background you can see a Quetzalcoatlus flying into the distance and a little tickbird flapping away.
Completed on the 12th of March 2010.
Touched up on the 26th of March 2010.

But it's better than Jack in Dinosaur revolution, because it has feathers.

This looks fantastic! The detail on the scales really stands out, especially on the face and neck. I like the pose, and the background is very fitting. Great work!

Awesome creature, really! The perspective is very good and the background afar is well detached.
