"Rainy Day Nap"Nanuqsaurus hoglundi. An acrylic painting of family Nanuqsaurus taking shelter from a shower.
I thought it would be a nice change of pace to depict a peaceful scene of a family of tyrannosaurids just snoozing in a cave-like structure. I chose Nanuqsaurus as it is a pygmy genus of tyrannosaurids, being about the size of a polar bear.
I sketched out the underdrawing for this a few months ago and only got around to painting it a month or so ago. This is one of a few planned paintings I had sketched out the first half of this year which I am slowly going to get done by the end of the year. I decided to add the falling rain in Photoshop.
I used some photo reference from a camping trip my girlfriend and I went on in May.
Completed on the 2nd of August 2019.
Done using acrylic paint, color pencils and Photoshop CC.
