“T'is the Season for Krampus”

Nanuqsaurus hoglundi, Pachyrhinosaurus perotorum. A digital painting of Krampus, a Nanuqsaurus, picking up the scent of a juvenile Pachyrhinosaurus who got separated from the herd during a freak snowing event.

Krampus may be a polar bear sized tyrannosaurine (they’re usually rhino to elephant-sized theropods), but he is still the scourge of the Alaskan forests. While I had little issue going with a fluffy tyrannosaurine, I had more of a predicament with deciding on whether to give the juvenile Pachyrhinosaurus some sort of fluffy integument to keep it warm in north. I decided to give him a good degree of insulating fat (like certain sea turtles).

This is a piece I wanted to get done for Christmas, so I managed to finish it up fairly quickly.
