- I didn't realize how much I was using coloring to make up for my lazy linework until now. It's only during this round did I realize that I usually never do lineart for backgrounds, haha...
- Whatever I was thinking while I was designing Tom, it was wrong. Tom has like, the most generic silhouette ever.

I'll be one of the 10000000+ Fight Club Makos on some/all of the days (definitely Saturday for the main Kill la Kill gathering, probably Friday as well, for the Trigger panel) ...that's not very specific, huh. Um. I'm aiming to be the shiniest Mako? I'll be going along with a bunch of other people, including a transformed Iori and a transformed Nonon whose speakers will hopefully be able to make sounds (assuming that they finish making their cosplays in time)? Dammit, how do internet stranger meetups work...?

Yeeeaaaahhhh the organisation was really butts, and it was so exhausting working with all those crowds omfg. But I got to work for Aniplex one of the days which was just posing for photos into front of the KLK cut outs- which I really enjoyed! And I didn't experience Linecon since exhibitor passes lets you bypass all the lines 8)
Did you go to the actual KLK event?? The concert was so cool aaahhhhh

*-* Yeah, I heard that the AX admins weren't expecting this crowd or something? They should've known better, especially since it's the Kill la Kill event and Sword Art Online and Sailor Moon. Also, the convention hall is terrible, too -- there's not a lot of rooms but quite a lot of panels, which means crowds and linecon, which means sadness for both the staff who have to manage the linecon and the people who have to linecon... That Trigger panel on Day 3 probably had the highest human density I've ever experienced in my life...

But yeah, the concert was hella rad! I was expecting something mediocre because lives usually are kinda bad, but Aoi Eir sounded really, really good. Also all the staff had great chemistry! Too bad the Aniplex translator sucked. She actually outright mistranslated stuff sometimes :< They should've used the guy with the hat they had at the other panels, or used their own translator...
Well obviously not actually all of them because I missed 2 of the cosplay gatherings (only made it to the main one... sob) because it took too long to finish everyone's costumes/get everyone in costume...

I didn't even bother with the Day 0 line because we arrived too late to make LineCon worthwhile (also because some people need to finish their cosplays). Supposedly some people were stuck in there for 5 hours?! We went to the Day 1 line at 9am and the line was 3ish hours... Can't the AX admins just accept the fact that AX will only get worse from here on and plan ahead? ;;-;; The attendance has only been increasing...
HAHA YEAH unexpected Ambiguous!!! She sounded really good singing it, too!! I actually lost my voice screaming in the hype when she started singing it, haha! Also it was really funny when Satsuki's VA was doing her Satsuki voice and was like "YOU PIGS IN HUMAN CLOTHING!! YOU PIGS!!!!! YOU PIGS!!!!!! I'm so sorry for yelling at you guys"
This is my second AX -- I went last year, too~ I used to go to FanimeCon, but then I moved so AX became more convenient. Do you work at AX every year?

I really don't understand why they can't just have us print out our own tickets. In NZ we have ticket handling sites where you print your own shit out, and if you loose it, that's your own fault. And if you could print out the KLK tickets why can't you do it for expo itself S I I I G H

Yeah, last year was my first too!! Nnno this year was my first time working- and unless Aniplex asks me to work for them, I will not be doing it again tbh. Didn't enjoy working for Daisuke, but the day I was at Aniplex they treated me a lot better.

Would having us print our own tickets actually be faster? LineCon is pretty streamlined as far as I can tell -- they have a machine that confirms your existence via scanning a code you printed out yourself ahead of time, then it automatically prints your badge. So you just scan -> walk to the people guarding the printers -> show them your id -> obtain your badge -> gtfo. The thing is that, even if getting a ticket takes 1 minute per person, and you can process 12 people at once, if you have 1000 people in line, the people at the back of the line still gotta wait for more than an hour...
Yeah!! ;v; Her Satsuki voice is super impressive, especially since she's so quiet normally! And when she and Ryuuko's VA compared their heights... haha
Sushio (the character designer + head animator) is also super great and I'm sad that he didn't talk more ("What's your impression on the dub?" "I think the animation looks great ^-^")

if those machines hadn't broken this year- then yes it would have been faster. But that's the only flaw in the system.
And so many people ghost the con, a lot of the time those badges are moot. I was actually with a friend the entire weekend who ghosted and never got caught 9__9 it was incredable at the lack of security really
my first AX was a lot better than this one, as I did a lot more of the panels and signings etc. I worked this year for a number of reasons. I was trying to get into full Aniplex, as they would get you exclusive time with the KLK guests, and working the KLK event on stage. But I got into Daisuke, which was working all 4 days instead of 2, and I couldn't pull out as my gf needed the free badge you get with working AX. So because I worked 4 days, I didn't get to do anything con :/

I think the machines break every year... They were broken last year during Day 0, too, which supposedly explained why the line was moving so slowly last year... *-* With that said though, the security does seem pretty bad. I can't believe your friend got away with ghosting the entire con!

Neither can I! I felt really bad, but she's a friend of my gfs, so didn't feel in my place to tell her off. And last year I got away with getting my 3DMG into the halls without it being piece bonded haaaaa
Yeah. But its okay! Lots of good things still happened, so it didn't ruin the entire time thank god haha. And totally! It felt so good avoiding all those lines haha

I think the machines broke half way, because my friends and I were standing at approximately the same spot in line for a really long time... :< And yeah, my friends and I managed to wander into the convention center without getting our bags checked multiple times somehow -_- On that note, I'm guessing security is more decent for panels and stuff because they actually can check people's badges one-by-one. Now I'm really tempted to make a giant cosplay just to see if I can get into the halls without a visible badge!
I'm glad you still had fun ^-^ LineCon was the worst, especially when we had to watch all the exhibitor/industry/etc people go in before us even though we've been in line for an hour, haha... What panels did you go to?

^-^;;That's true, the crowds are pretty bad... I think people with super large cosplays generally get trapped in the entrance hall part anyway, where they get protected by the circle of the constant stream of photographers, so maybe you'll be safe? Not sure how transporting the giant cosplay works out though
After seeing the really good Eva cosplayers at AX this year, I really want to make something awesome like that...

I think last year the only panels I went to were the Studio Trigger/LWA one and Super Art Fight (R18). I kinda avoided panels because I didn't care enough about free stuff to bother with LineCon hehe

Oh oh oh! If you wanna go to a good R18 panel, you should go to Super Art Fight (R18)! Basically, a bunch of artists are given prompts via a random roulette that takes prompts from Cards Against Humanity, and they "fight" by drawing on this giant canvas. It's all narrated like a boxing match. The R18 panel is for the artists to get everything out of their systems before the child-safe Super Art Fight the next day, so it's pretty great. Or, well, if you have an undying urge to learn how to say "cockthulu" in sign language, it's pretty great.
Also also Anime Expo posted something apologizing for how bad LineCon/everything this year was! I'm surprised that they actually cared!!
