Simbati had assaulted Nuru blindly. The strangely-spotted cat had been faster, even though Simbati had tried her best to bite and claw the cat. Her cries of "monster" had received angry results, but the lioness felt no regret. As she disengage Nuru, she noticed Tsavi fighting the other fire-generating feline nearby.

At once, Simbati leapt to join her ward, green eyes glistening in the growing fire-light. She felt the heat of the fire, fear fluttered in her heart, her face stung... but she forced her eyes to remain open as she eyed the two invaders who now circled both herself and Tsavi.

"I've got your back, Cub," Simbati told Tsavi as she glared down Nuru.

Simbati didn't look as confident as she had just moments before. Blood was beginning to drip down her face, and these creatures controlled fire. The situation seemed to be getting out of control.

"This is our home!" growled Simbati - "You have encroached on our lands. Desperation is no excuse. Get out!" she tried one last time... She was a hypocrite. She had known desperation and part of her heart went out to Nuru's plight. But she would fight tooth and nail for her pride until ordered otherwise.

I'm jammin', oh yeah! Umm, another Lion King-style picture 'cause I'm still feelin' the mood.

Unfortunately, I forgot to enlarge this before I did the lineart, so it's not nearly as smooth as the last picture I dd. Still, I had fun creating the fire and lighting on this one. I don't particularly care for the background, but as it is blurred and no the focus, I guess it works.

Anyway, Simbati (the lioness) and Tsavi (the lion) are trapped in the middle. They are surrounded by two other big cats - Naasir (the dark brown one) and Nuru (that little bit of hip you see in the foreground. Sorry Larka!)
