Description
Sometime back the idea for this picture was pitched to me amongst a few others. All mighty fine ideas, but this one stuck out to me the most because I could actually see it (if that makes sense). It wasn't until I actually saw Frozen that I caught a fire (heh-heh) for this picture and set off to do it, and I am so very glad that I did. Doing this was probably the most fun I have had in a while, and I think that's 'cause of a lot of reasons. First time drawing Elsa, drawing a better Sub-Zero, doing it all digitally and getting more into coloring and lighting...this entire thing was pretty much like playing in...well, snow for me.
That last bit makes sense if you've ever seen me play in the snow.
6/8/2014~ And 200+ faves? Aw, thanks you guys!
7/18/2014~ Oh WOW! This has gone and become my most faved deviation of all time! Thank you so much!
11/22/2014~ 300 FAVES?! GUUUUUUUYS, thank you!
Sub-Zero is (C) Netherrealm Studios. Elsa is (C) Disney.
Boy, ain't it weird seeing those two together?

Why is he scowling at Elsa? You'd think he'd be hot to trot for the Ice Queen.

Subzero thoughts: yes her powers are impressive and growing with time and practice she could be a great and powerful Lin kuei ninja with this girl by my side I can finally destroy scorpion for killing my brother but she's going to need a new clothes and haircut and also new codename Frost maybe, yes "Frost" that's perfect for her (evil laugh) tomorrow I'm going to teach her how to rip a man spinal cord out.
Elsa: is there something wrong grandmaster?
Subzero: never child your performing cryomancy arts well .
Elsa: oh thank you it's all because you're such a great teacher.
Subzero: I believe your ready for the next step of your training.

lol I would still vote for Sub-Zero over Elsa, but this is hilarious. If I was Elsa, I wouldn't seek out Sub-Zero for anything regarding ice powers. Sub-Zero will use his powers for more lethal purposes (my favorite Sub Zero move is creating an ice sword, impaling the opponent, and attack them while they bleed to death).

I think you mean with Ice Sword the Kori Blade (Info from Mortal Kombat Deception, my favorite MK)

Taqresu650 In reply to twistedsonic [2015-08-16 21:12:59 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, it's the Kori blade I'm talking about. I just couldn't remember the name of the blade. The move I'm talking about is from Mortal Kombat V: Deadly Alliance. Each character has 3 fighting styles (usually one weapon and two hand-to-hand styles) that they can alternate on the fly. When you use the Kori blade as Sub Zero, you can impale the opponent and leave the blade in their stomach. They will bleed and slowly take damage over time. The blade returns to Sub Zero at the end of each round automatically. If you really want to, you can impale them and keep them at bay with freeze moves to give them a long slow death.

No problem. My cousins have Deadly Alliance and a regular xbox that still works. Lately, I've been practicing and getting Kurrency.

I don't have it for the PS2, but I could try to find it (after if I find the cord that connects my PS2 to the outlet).

In the current timeline (after MK 2011, MKX), Sub-zero is more like the wise man of the montain, so he is not up to kill anyone unless he has to (More like most of defenders of Earth Realm). He even tries to be reasonable with Scorpion because he consider his honor as broken as his enemy.
His older version teaching Elsa new tricks would be better for a fanfiction, though (He is not young anymore, but is not too old).

The most recent Mortal Kombat game I've played is Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for the xbox360, so I never knew about the way Sub-Zero becomes. Although the game did have Quan Shi remind Scorpian his past after Scorpian was considering Raiden's advice to spare Sub Zero. I believe Sub-Zero was also able to watch as Quan Shi displayed the scene. I don't know how the MK timelines work, because I know very little about them, but the Deadly Alliance version of Sub-Zero looks like he has aged.
That older version of Sub-Zero is the better version to teach Esla.

Mortal Kombat 2011 is after MK Armagedon, when Blaze, a powerful being made of lava, appeared in the middle of the Battle of Armagedon (The last battle between the Forces of Light and Darkness). The one could defeat Blaze would be a new god by him/herself.
At the end, Shao Khan and Raiden remained as the only survivors of this battle, but Raiden couldnt win this one: Shao Khan already killed Blaze.Β
Raiden just send a message to his past self in order to avoid Armagedon... So we had Mortal kombat rebooted (MK1, MK2 and MK3) during MK 2011. MKX is after 20 of the battle between outworld and Earth Realm (current timeline)

Interesting. I've seen an example of Raiden warning his past self in Komplete Edition, is the MK 1 Reboot? I only remember playing MK2 (Arcade style), MK3 (original Playstation), MK V: Deadly Alliance (original xbox), MK vs DC, and MK Komplete Edition. I still have no clue if MK vs DC has any connection at all with the other MK titles. I've also seen parts of the movies, but I don't remember them well (besides the fact that Christopher Lambert plays Raiden). I found guidebooks for 4 and a Sub-Zero MK game, but I haven't had much time to read them.

Taqresu650 In reply to Randomcopy [2015-09-04 20:34:44 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I can't think of any way that MK vs DC fits into the overall story. I can see how it connects as one of the multiple universes in DC's Multiverse, but MK is different. Either way, I had a lot of fun with it. Batman, as a character fits right in with all his combat knowledge, and it was interesting to see Raiden against Superman. I also liked the humor brought about by battles like the Joker against Sonya. MK Komplete Edition was also hilarious when it comes to Johnny Cage. One of my favorite scenes was near the beginning where he walks in front of the kombatants saying, "I'm taking you out, I'm taking you out, I'm taking you out..." until he goes to Sonya to finish, "...and I'm taking you out to dinner."
