Sometime back the idea for this picture was pitched to me amongst a few others. All mighty fine ideas, but this one stuck out to me the most because I could actually see it (if that makes sense). It wasn't until I actually saw Frozen that I caught a fire (heh-heh) for this picture and set off to do it, and I am so very glad that I did. Doing this was probably the most fun I have had in a while, and I think that's 'cause of a lot of reasons. First time drawing Elsa, drawing a better Sub-Zero, doing it all digitally and getting more into coloring and lighting...this entire thing was pretty much like playing in...well, snow for me.
That last bit makes sense if you've ever seen me play in the snow.

I can see these two learning off of each other, Elsa can teach him to enhance his ice powers or to learn new ice powers and Sub-Zero can teach her his martial arts i think it could make for an interesting father/daughter relationship.

But Sub-Zero's powers are already more advanced than Elsa's. He can teleport, counter blows, construct blunt weapons out of ice (usually he constructs stabbing weapons) and project frosty climate and cold waves.
Besides, Sub-Zero's powers are genetic and controlled through his purity of his strong will. Elsa's powers are a magical curse which she received from the devil, who wanted her only to see her evil side, that which turned her into a cold-hearted mass-murderer (at least that's how it was in the original story).

It's also a nice change. Most crossovers with Elsa are trying to force a love interest onto her, and I'm guilty in one instance of that, but it reckon she would be better suited to a friend or mentor.
