Description
I absolutely loved watching How to Train Your Dragon (and I'm still looking to get my hands on the books) so I had to start inserting the characters into my sketch card project! Here's one of Ruffnut and the two-headed Hideous Zippleback :3More to come, most definitely!
Marker and colored pencil on a 2.5 x 3.5" card

Love your Zippleback heads, oh my goodness, you've captured the absolute essence of their googley-eyed mayhem!

I know, they're incredible! I was so proud of Dreamworks, normally they're so... predictable. I think their originality started with Kung Fu Panda- not the greatest character designs, but at least they were different and intricate and appealing to look at. With HTTYD they blew their lower standards out of the water

Same here , just took a course in free-hand drawing at college. I'm trying to get use to the feel of paper and pencil, instead of Wacom tablet and stylus. Guess I'm trying to say that your usage of traditional media is wonderful

Oh WOW! Everything's so smooth! Does colored pencil always look that awesome on card-stock? Er, actually it's probably just due to your obvious mad skillz.
I love this. Very nice work!

Thank you! Prismacolor pencils are pretty darn smooth, especially when they're used on top of prismacolor marker. It's like a conspiracy. >_>

Thanks! Lately I've been putting the majority of my time into these sketch cards and not much has made it to DA yet. I've been trying to update my LJ with frequent art posts and slowly letting DA catch up. XD I'm totally hooked on these sketch cards!

Tuffnut gets his own card initially. :3 I'll probably do another later with the twins beating on each other or something XD
