Description
Upon a waxing moon, with her hand on her charm
The girlchild made her wish:
That her heart should ne'er come to harm.

She would remember always the passing of the light -
The last of the Days -
Before the sun was set to flight.

The unending night was a thing of unutterable beauty;
Her icy blue breath - a living mist,
And a lunar goddess to mute the stars completely.

And yet the girlchild would have given all they found
For a glimpse of colour once again,
To touch the warmth of the burning air forever bound -

For under the earth resided her joy, her one truth,
And she could not forget him
Lest she lose herself, and would never soothe
The ache of having misplaced the only vital Light - and dim.
