I need your help!This feel unfinished, but I really have NO idea what to do with it! I tried animating their eyes to sort of stare menacingly (Mello) and go all wide-eyed (Near) but it just didn't seem like enough... What can I do with it? What kind of background could I put on it? Help!
Suggestions on a postcard plz! Or, you know, in the comments...

maybe the background could be pale coloured zooms of thier faces, in the same position and expression? I hope I made that make sense?

First off, I'd put them on a landscape canvas - I don't know why, I just think that would feel better. Possibly try and put them in the SPK headquarters? When I saw the pose I was just reminded of the bit where Mello gets Lidner to take him there... so, yeah - lots of screens and whatnot. Maybe.

EITHER:
Mello bursts into flame and only his clothes are affected :3
OR:
Mello raises the gun, fires, and a little "BANG!" flag pops out instead of a bullet x3

And he bursts into flame 'cause it's RANDOM and everyone wants his clothes off XD Maybe one of Near's toys was replaced with a flamethrower or something so BOTH can happen and everyone's happy x3

Kind of makes me want to do THE TOY WARS comic strip where they just bash each-other like itchy and scratchy in the most gruesome ways... If only there were more hours in the day!

hmmmm.. maybe animate a holy light come from a corner and make mello's coat disappear to have him shirtless. That'd make ANYONE go wide-eyed. XD
Or for background, like a white circle like floor, like a spotlight is on them, and the rest dark. :3

I say...a floor for them to be sitting/standing on! 
But yeah, I think some solid ground for them would really give the picture some weight and more of a finished feel.

Yes, a floor is definitely needed! Stretchy shadows - great idea.. actually shadows in general might really help the case!
