Description
My concept of a successor to the OV-22 Osprey. This came about as I was righting the second FIRE Team Alpha Novel. I had written the team into a mission where their normal Mohawk stealth helicopters were too slow to get them into their operation's area on time.
So, I decided that a second or third generation tiltrotor aircraft was the logical choice to get the team on target. The Condor isn't intended to be a stealth craft, but I decided to give it a faceted shape of stealth vehicles like the real-life F-177 stealth attack aircraft. This, I thought, would reduce but not totally eliminate the Condor's radar signature.
Being a transport, she's lightly armed with only four 20mm auto-cannon mounted one port, one starboard one each on each side of the rear loading ramp. Plus the full array of electronic countermeasures; including chafe and flare dispensers, radar jammers, I.R. suppressors, multi-chromatic camouflage (in forest green, commando black, desert, and jungle camo patterns) and ablative, laser dispersion air-frame coating.
There would be an eight-man crew; pilot, co-pilot, navigator, an engineer and the four gunners. It would be able to carry 60 battle equipped infantrymen or the equivalent in equipment.

The above rant shows that I have too much time to think about fictional techno-terrors.
