Description
FULL VIEW, PLEASEBoudica, the legendary Celtic queen of the Iceni tribe.
This picture is in no way historically accurate--but it's how I picture her
As always, comments/crit is much welcomed.
(I'm throwing art out fast!)

"She was huge of frame, terrifying of aspect, and with a harsh voice. A great mass of bright red hair fell to her knees: She wore a great twisted golden necklace, and a tunic of many colors, over which was a thick mantle, fastened by a brooch. Now she grasped a spear, to strike fear into all who watched her . . . ."βDio Cassius (Webster, 54)
...meh, could be a bit bulkier...but you weren't aiming for historical accuracy, so that aside. This is very beautiful.

I love how the shield is shiny! How did you do that? It's sad to know what Boudica and her family and tribe suffered at the hands of the Romans.

I just used a preset gradient from Paintshop Pro. It has a nice effect
And on Boudica--her story's tragic, I know! And it sucks to think that that happened all over the world at the hands of the Roman Empire... but she handled it with moxy!

She's so lovely and strong! I love the colors of her dress and hair, and the knotwork designs on her bodice and shield are beautiful. Excellently done!

Thank you I think, of all my drawings, I like the colors in this one the best, too.
