Description
An Β exercise for recognizing values, light and shadow. Using mainly airbrush. I prefered to use tracing in order to enjoy the process, while practicing the use of values. This is the original photo . I am very open to get advices about how I can improve
Trying to express the suffering of so many innocents around the world...

Thank you so much! I am not sure if I am the right person for this, since this is my first ever try which came even close to being finished. I still do not know how to do some things, I learn them on the way... And I would not be able to make them traditionally, since I continuosly delete and redraw. This is the only advice I have, do it all over again till you like it. I continue till I feel it is "round". And I used my lack of experience and skill by using a theme where there is not need for detail. Here there are plenty of things I can improve, and I got a lot of very useful advices that I applied in Adele . For this drawing I do not feel yet like putting more details in it, because the atmosphere inspired me to work further on it. It is an intense memory as it stands...(I was following the Paris news, feeling helpless, but wanting to help somehow - out of this feeling the drawing came to life)
I might make another one implementing everything I learned in between.
But regarding the eyes, I made really many versions of them, and compared to see how the expression changes when a shadow is there, a highlight there, that shape like this or like that...
For traditional, I can only recommend you to try to talk with traditional artists, like George-B-Art , lemgras330 , AmBr0 , HendrikHermans , Quelchii , jankolas

I really enjoy the softness the airbrush brought to this study. You've created a wonderfully angelic and bittersweet piece. Wonderful exercise!

Nice job on this. I'm not sure how to give any constructive criticism in the artistic regard, all I can say is I think the cheeks on either side could use some more definition so that it doesn't feel like the sides of her face are glowing/blurring. The critic mentioned other things that I feel I noticed but have no way of effectively communicating. Either way, it's obvious a lot of time went into this so again, nice job.

So beautiful! I love the way her face and emotion is universal. Each of us can relate to it in our own way, from our own experiences.

I hid my other comment because it posted in the wrong place. Anyway, I like the eyebrows lighter. I think the whole picture is beautiful.
